Innovative endurance artist and magician David Blaine predicts cards for actor Jamie Foxx and manages to call out what could have been his card. Watch 'David Blaine: The Magic Way' on ABC and Hulu.
David Blaine is the all time best in my opinion he makes that Dynamo loser look like a little with his crappy $20 Magic Kit from Target P.S. This msg was brought to you quite possibly by the people who like only David Blaine & Walmart.
theres a lot of magicians out there and even new ones but in my eyes no magician has revolutionized street magic the way david blaine did. he will always be on top of my list and i will always be a fan.
Not only magic but some of the most insane things he has done over the years make him the greatest in my eyes. Holding his breath for about 20 min. Living in a ice rock for a couple of days standing on a pole for a long time. sticking ice needles through his body getting short in the mouth the list really goes on and on and on
“Do you see your card here?” “...no” “That’s because it’s on Neptune. I will now levitate to Neptune and retrieve it, on high definition video with no space suit, for you to see.”
the best part for me was off camera picturing David Blaine once hes done everyone goes back to partying and drinking and hes just crawling on the ground trying to pick up all his cards
Even after you understand how he did it...just the precision and the showmanship of it is breathtaking. Beautiful display of carefully perfected illusion. 🔥
On another level you can clearly see how he does the trick in the video it's clear as day if that's the highest of the high hoof you have really low expectations now don't get me wrong the man is a genius but this trick sucked it's not a trick that should be filmed live yeah I blow you away I caught it the first time do you know the principles I've just heard them assumed they were correct and lo and behold like a key unlocked the trick now the highest of the high is his hand movement his physical control that's next level this trick was not he just gets away with it cuz he's fast and he has you you fill in the blank I'm not giving the man stuff away just because I figured it out that does not give me the right tell everybody a lot of hard work and time and it's his intellectual property I'm just surprised he allowed that version to be released it could use some editing to safeguard Trade Secrets but then again I guess if you have Cuts do your viewing audience says Fugazi but come on if you didn't see any bit of it nice to meet you mark
David Blaine is the kind of man to tell you your asleep and you’d wake up from the dream. Then when you go out and meet him he’d say “Told you you were asleep”
The fact he looks normal and doesn't bother with the extravagant hats, capes and wands just makes him that much more captivating. Being a cool New Yorker is the best magician costume today.
Jamie dealt 8 cards. In the end when David shows all 6s of diamonds, there are only 7 cards in total - 6 in David's hand and 1 in Jamie's. The 8th card (3 of clubs) was discarded when David asked everyone to focus on what he wrote on cook's hands.
I'll call you on that. How/when/where did the 3c enter the deck? In which position was the 3c when Blaine picked up the packet from the chef's hand? (no need for the lift/palm-out explanation, I already see those)
@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid The entire deck Jamie is holding is 6d with the top card 3c. When Jamie deals the cards, the 3c is the first he deals. When Jamie stops dealing, Blaine lifts two cards (a double lift), the top 6d and the 3c from the bottom. He shows Jamie the 3c which has a 6d on top of it (as if it's one card). He places both back on top (as if he's placing only the 3c on top, but it has a 6d on it). He then hands Jamie the top card (a 6d) as if it's the 3c. Jamie is holding a 6d. The 3c is the top card in Blaine's hand. Blaine tells the spectator to open his hand and reveal the writing. Everyone looks at the spectator's hand (even the cameraman focuses on the hand). While everyone is looking at the writing on the hand, Blaine pockets the 3c. All cards, including the one that Jamie is holding, are 6d.
I dont think it was just a double lift?? It would imply Jamie stopped at the right spot, to double lift and show the 3 clubs. I could be wrong but hes somehow lifted the 3 of clubs from the bottom (wouldve been top decked when jamie started piling), and double lifted with the 6 diamonds. Hes palmed the 3 when he shows the writing on the hand, but its the placement of the 3 to double lift im stuck on. Either way, the lift itself is clean af
David Blaine takes risks but he used a pretty well known force. If you're asking someone to deal that slowly you can just about guarantee when they'll stop dealing a card down. In this case a double lift worked great but you can bet if it was a card sooner he would've just done a top deal to get in the same position.
@@slayerbot1394 yeah there's lots of variables. I'm sure he had some sort of plan for wherever Jamie would have stopped. But it sure looks like Jamie stopped one card after the 3, David did a double lift to show everyone the three but then handed Jamie the 6 that was actually the top card. Then he ditches the 3 when he tells the other guy to read what's written on his hand
@@slayerbot1394 ya know, after looking at it, it does look like he's got a pinky break, or some type of hold on the bottom card. If he did lift that three from the bottom directly into the double lift like you guessed, that is just insanely impressive.
I like how he's constsntly like "no but wait wait, look look... but wait, see? Look look look" cuz he knows everyone will just think that the trick is done and start to run in surprise before the actual end, lol
Whenever David Blaine reveals his trick and it doesn't get a hype reaction, I get sad until I hear "BUT WAIT WAIT!" and I'm like ohhhh shit there's more.
His sleight of hand is average, but fat from the "king." There are many guys WAAAAAY better on a totally different league. Vhech out Jason Ladanye on FB and YoyTube
Well I could spot the move on how he changed the 3 but I don’t know how he got the card there, but there’s other tricks I’ve caught David on as well, I do magic myself and know a lot of tricks which is why I caught some of them, not boasting just saying.
@@timscoviac Yeah, the insertion of the 3 is kinda baffling. His hands are clean when he grabs the packet Jamie dealt. I know his signature cards are marked, which would let him identify it AFTER it was dealt face-down, but I have no idea how he was so confident that Jamie wouldn't stop BEFORE dealing down the 3. I suspect I'm missing something here. Blaine is suuuuuper sick at card magic, but I have a hard time believing he would allow so much uncertainty. 🤔...
Derek Tang I just don’t understand how he didn’t put the 3 of clubs into J’s hand. He showed it then gave it to him, I watched on 0.25x speed and can’t see any switch of the card so if he switched it between showing the 3 and handing it to him that’s nuts
@@movieguy7882 it's called a break. He picked up 2 cards at once and showed jamie the bottom one(3) and gave him the top one(6) because it looks like one card
Jamie Fox was so disappointed when it stopped short of the 6 of diamonds until David Blaine pulled an Oprah and said. “6 of diamonds for you, and you, and you, everyone gets a 6 of diamonds!”
