I was at this show. A great night. Bowie, if memory serves, only played his own songs until Lou came out. Then he played Lou’s songs. A true sign of respect and admiration.
David Bowie and Lou Reed are a killer combination 🎉🎉. They are 2 icons playing music 🎶 🎵 together, and it's a stellar performance 🎉🎉. They both sound amazing 🎉🎉
I love how Lou looks at David like a proud father or older brother. both such brilliant minds and talented beings, my love for them is unending. I was born too late.

Bowie is ridiculously cool. No effort required by the man. Both Lou and David were putting out decent music around this time. "Ecstacy" is one of Lou's best solo albums IMHO. All I Wanna know is where's Iggy? Woulda been perfect if he'd crashed the party.
Two brilliant men who are sadly missed. This is a great performance and I just love the little bits of banter between them whilst they sing, you can tell they were friends. I just hope this is happening somewhere else right now.
Yes, two major contributors to the scene in the modern age--that means early seventies and on. Cool to see them trading riffs and commaraderie. Thanks to RU-vid that we can enjoy them now. And....thanks for the upload!
I can only imagine the electricity that was in the air during this performance. Lou with the intense, sensual power and David with the drama and spice! They were two of the rare coolest artists of all. This concert will need to be purchased! Thank you for sharing.
+batwingedloony No kidding. You would really have to wonder about a crowd that would be booing Lou Reed and David Bowie. It's impossible to have that many clueless people in one place at one time!!
+Ricky Rhoades The same thing happens at Bruce Springsteen concerts. Everyone shouts Bruuuce which als sounds a lot like booing. I find it annoying tbh.
+Chilli Whippet NEVER! I've just created a celebration for myself with Bowie. For the rest of my life, January is going to be David Bowie month for me. ALL BOWIE ALL THE TIME. January is kind of a bland month so now I have something to look forward to every January!!
No one will forget Ziggy, but David got sick of being Ziggy instead of Bowie. So he killed him off under the premise of his fans being so consuming that they sealed his fate. Brilliant.
Seems like most of the bands, singers and the rock genre of the 60's/70's has lasted as well as becoming Ledgends, honored by the president, above all others. For some, their time has come. Ours will too! But I personally have the Albums w/record player, 8track tape &player, reel to reel& player, cassettes+player, CDs well you get my point. will be putting them in my will to my blessing, my son. Long may they play!!!!
DAVID Bowie's life was extraordinary ! He took us on a his own musical journey ~ I love hearing his voice~ be it. . . when he speaks, ~ or be it . . . , when he sings, np matter what new song he put out there. I always knew . he would not disappoint me or anyone else, My 1st year of high school ,15 yrs young- grade 9- I heard the Star Man LP - I recall the lyrics being very Wow, and we all though Bowie must written the songs on acid, - Bowie was not one particular genre of music, , he was his own selective- group - His music was was not acid rock, or hard rock, He was David Bowie, the Star Man, Ground Controll to Major Tom - I LOVED BOWIE - I literally believed he fell to Earth from somewhere else,
