No doubt ..... he's got the foot off the gas completely here and allowing Belew to carry the high notes. Probably just reading the crowd and realizing it wasn't necessary to extend himself.
Agreed .... if someone put a gun to my head and forced me to pick greatest musical influence on my life I'd have a really have a hard time choosing between Elvis , The Beatles and Bowie.
Legendary Mr Starman David Bowie. How we miss you dearly. Amazing performance. He came to Singapore once during his Serious Moonlight tour , my aunt bought me to see him , I was 12 years old and love him since
I saw Bowie live in the early 90s. He did all the old hits. The back catalogue was frankly ridiculous. He was a genius. And that day all there was between me and him was fresh air. It was unbelievable. Never seen anything as magical before or since.
the thing is wth bowie he had amazing musicians all his career.. we miss you mate like all the greats that have passed on.......................thats why i listin and always will
This one and And TFI 1999 are very unique and I been listening to different versions of his songs back to back. It's amazing how voice changes over time. Each one so unique!
Didn't know what time it was the lights were low I leaned back on my radio Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll Then the loud sound did seem to fade Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase That weren't no DJ that was hazy cosmic jive There's a starman waiting in the sky He'd like to come and meet us But he thinks he'd blow our minds There's a starman waiting in the sky He's told us not to blow it 'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile And he told me: Let the children lose it Let the children use it Let all the children boogie I had to phone someone so I picked on you Hey, that's far out so you heard him too Switch on the TV we may pick him up on channel two Look out your window I can see his light If we can sparkle he may land tonight Don't tell your poppa or he'll get us locked up in fright There's a starman waiting in the sky He'd like to come and meet us But he thinks he'd blow our minds There's a starman waiting in the sky He's told us not to blow it 'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile And he told me: Let the children lose it Let the children use it Let all the children boogie
I looked it up afterwards, he actually recorded on "Lodger" and toured on several occasions. I found this awesome bit about the Lodger tour rehearsals - I'll try to find a source. So apparently, during the first rehearsal with Belew, they prepared to play Heroes and told him something to the effect of "look, this has too many guitar layers and it's a studio recording and has Fripp's sound, so it's OK if you find something simpler, similar to play because it's impossible" and he apparently went on to play flawlessly all 3 layers of this epic, sustained guitar drone using loops etc. Ah, this guy.
この日私もこの場所にいました。東京ドーム公演の2日目の映像です。初日は高熱を出し、辛そうだったと、後日音楽雑誌で知りました。 I was in this place that day too. This is the video of the second day of the Tokyo Dome performance. I later learned from a music magazine that I had a high fever on the first day and it seemed to be painful.
