I know, right? I remember this special feature on the DVD blew my mind when I first saw it 15-ish years ago. All these years later, this kind of detail is so normal to me now.
This is an exctract from an interview on the sound design of "Panic Room", where Ren Klyce mentions shortly the LCR recording: "...Instead of recording only in stereo, Klyce decided to “go one more and record it in LCR with the Deva. So we used a KMR81 Neumann for the center and two Neumann KM140s for the L and the R, and we printed those discreetly, and it sounded great.”
@@marcolopez9496 Awesome, thanks for digging that up! This is a great field recording site: www.creativefieldrecording.com/ I couldn't find anything on LCR recording specifically but lots of great information in general.
@@INDEPTHSoundDesign Awesome, thanks! This is a forum where this technique is a little bit more discussed. sound.stackexchange.com/questions/20174/lcr-field-recording
