David Goggins is a retired United States Navy SEAL, ultramarathon runner, triathlete, public speaker and an author.
The ability to overcome challenges in life is one we will all need sooner or later. Make no mistake, discomfort is coming for you whether you're ready or not. Goggins happens to be one of the best individuals on earth at dealing with hard things and after 4 years without any podcast appearances, I met him in Vegas to find out what new insights he's uncovered.
Expect to learn what most people get wrong about motivation, Goggins' thoughts on claims that SEAL selection is too hard, what the most painful experience of his life was, the danger of success making you soft, why he ran the MOAB 240 twice with no knee cartilage, why he recorded a mixtape of insults from the internet, how to overcome laziness, what David's entire daily routine of discipline looks like and much more...

This guy isn’t balanced. In life you most of us draw from being within a group a marriage a family. His voice and intensity are not healthy for Corning relationships. He is studied and observed by certain men that think this is the epitome of manhood “stay hard”. Whiles I get it a lot of it I don’t! Switching off having a laugh chilling out coming home playing with your kids seeing your wife is what most balance humans are about. This man talks all of this but is selling a product hence the podcasts selling his new book. However he doesn’t have a chick or treat to call his own. No children no family no wife. I don’t consider this out purpose on this earth indeed don’t find it healthy at all!

Now is time to dig deeper than I ever have before and drive myself out of pride for those accomplishments, have discipline eat motivation for breakfast, lunch, and mother-fucking dinner! @@palek555 Damn man I wasted around the same amount of years doing jack sht. Felt absolutely horrible by the end of those years, especially when I compared myself to my friends who had gotten their life together during those precious years I wasted. That year where all my regrets, procrastinations.. finally came crashing down on me was the worst. I felt suffocated and had cornered myself so badly that it could've been the end. Fortunately around that exact time I came across people like Jordan Peterson, Jocko Wilink and Goggins. Their words and the example they hold themselves to, it saved me. I never met them or know how they really are as people in private, but I'll forever be grateful to them. Since then, these last 3 years I've been on a life resetting journey. Initially all I did was listen to them for hours daily. Trying to change- learn good habits, get rid of the useless ones. Failed miserably for months. But around a year, a few habits started to stick. Once that happened, it started to snowball from there. Never looked back! Man I hope your journey is going great too. I don't know you at all but I truly, sincerely hope you're still on that uphill path. The road never gets easy but it's a relief to know that I'm not the only one. That there's somone out there who's also struggling but is on it. Never giving up.

David Goggins is truly an inspiration to anyone who has ever wanted to push their limits. His incredible story and journey of self-improvement is one that we should all try to follow as closely as possible. He has proven over and over again what the power of determination and dedication can do, even in the face of adversity. His story is one that should motivate us all to never give up on our dreams and goals - no matter how hard they seem. Great stuff Chris!

This man's lessons changed my life at a time I'm was truly on the edge. Truelymlistening to David Goggins first book help my mind get soooo much in order. His methods won't work for everyone but I pass it on. If your mind is telling you it's too hard, that's when you keep pushing, that's when you don't quit. Own your own mind and become a true savage. Thank you so much, David, for what you've shared with the world.

I find Goggins very relatable. The experiences he has gone through are so similar to me, though it was a lesser degree that I went through it. The last 5 years has been me trying to fight for what I want for a change. I have failed at almost everything, BUT I am in a better place now than I was 5 years ago. Mentally, physically and emotionally. It is great to be able to look back at myself 5 years ago and smile at the progress that I have made. It does build a shit ton of confidence to know, that all these failures have built me to be stronger, and better at attempting for the win. I may have failed at most little things, but the bigger picture is, I'm winning.

This podcast really had a spark in my journey of mountain bike racing. I started racing around 3 years ago, last year I had an injury and couldnt participate in the season. When this podcast came out, I looked back at how I wasnt pushing and had no purpose to put myself in harms way for a shot at a win. The interaction and explanation of purpose in human beings at 1:36:00 really showed me how the mind can push a person further, disregarding needs or wants. Thank you Chris and David

I've been watching Goggins compilations before coming here, with various quotes, including some from this conversation. It struck me that when I first heard him saying: "you have to go back to the mental lab", and not wallow in success, I received the message as though he were addressing me, the audience. But here, with context, I saw that he was talking to himself. And then it hit me: his self-conversation is the same as his outward message. When he talks about 'you', he addresses his audience and himself simultaneously and in equal measure. I think Goggins understands this, and it is what makes his message so powerful. It requires very little translation from one person's situation to another. You will always have to deal with you.

Wow. This video just confirmed everything I’ve been going through first hand with a herniated disc for the past 2 years…rehabilitating strengthening and stretching, and very much the same epiphanies I made about our mind body connection. Thank you🙏 On an energetic level, the tightness in the hips/Psoaz is also directly connected to shrinking of the root chakra…like a black hole sucking in our life force energy/the “tightness” into itself. It totally f@cks you up, physically AND MENTALLY. Release those tight muscles and it allows the energy to flow through and expand the root chakra again.
