@@BH-gh6qm Yea this segment seemed super awkward, when Letterman says "no one cares" at 8:13 it seemed like he was genuinely upset for some reason. The jokes weren't very good (didn't even really seem like jokes tbh, most top tier TV comedians at least know setup-punchline format so the support staff know when to laugh and react, but this didn't even have obvious laugh moments for the cohosts). There were other moments where Letterman seemed genuinely in a bad mood which is such a major mistake for a TV presenter.
Kinda disappointing because Dave is really funny, and so are the TNT guys. But this was just a weird segment, there was way too many of the rule changes, they should have done something different too.
My goodness Mr. Letterman is just super natural, looks great at this show Legend. Miss watching his late night show. TNT thanks for brining him in this time ❤
Dave is a touch point for a whole generation of folks who followed him starting from his Mork and Mindy days. Go back and watch his work there if you ever feel like you can't turn things around... lol.
I'm 54 years old. I remember babysitting at the neighbour's house and watching Letterman as a young kid. The man was viciously funny back then. Now he is a simple teddy bear of a man. Long live David Letterman....
@@ericebeling3255wow must have been really interesting watching him go from that to hitting the big time . I actually just saw two episodes of him in a Mary Tyler Moore variety show from before he hit the big time . They're both here listed by the same title : Mary ( unaired) 1978 . They also have a very young Michael Keaton in them .
What a pleasant surprise seeing letterman join inside the nba. The man still has some of the best comedy chops I’ve ever seen. Just brilliant. Hope he’s involved in more content going forward.
Being 40, I always thought David Letterman was the best late night talk that was on at the time. How Leno beat him in the ratings always left me fucking astounded. Glad to see him on this show.
NBC affiliates aired Leno right after the local news. CBS affiliates-only about 70% at times. And Jay had higher profile guests being based in L.A. And Letterman put a lot of people off with "weird" comedy where Leno played it down the middle.
Haa Haa LOL for a split second when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was " PHIL JACKSON " and Not David Letterman . Since Phil is a basketball celebrity and David a comedian , it would make sense for Phil to be on a basketball sports show . David's looks sure have changed a lot over the years.
PR announcement incoming: I think he is the NBA's apparel sponsor next year through his company World Wide Pants. I'm guessing they will do shorts and tops as well taking over from Nike who will continue to do shoe deals with individual players. Inside sources liken Letterman's deal with the NBA to Drake's deal with the Raptors through his OVO company. Note: I'm trying to will this idiocy into existence... ;)
Lol you could see that Kenny’s a big fan, he was like an excited kid, so he was trying hard to impress Dave with his comments and jokes… but you have to leave that to the professionals
1. No more 3 pt line. Every basket is 2 pts. 2. No more free throws. The team that is fouled keeps possession at half court. Same number of fouls per player. 3. Coach can challenge a call. 3 times per half. Failed challenge costs a time out. Reviewed by video.
Some of the best Dave I’ve seen, and who would’ve thought it would come after almost 10 years off the air. Incredibly quick-witted, great timing, working the whole bit from start to finish…. Feels like classic Dave comedy.
for anyone who doesn't know, this is the person who asked kevin durant "so why do they call you KD?" because it seems like a large part of the internet now doesn't know that it was david letterman making a joke haha
Once again David Letterman makes everything better no matter what it is. These are such great ideas though he might even get ME out to see a game! I have watched everything he's done since the first OLD show. Rock on Mo Fo!
Actually 8:29 is brilliant. The penalty ends when/if the other team scores, just like in hockey. But rather than standing by yourself at a line, you actually have to execute a play until you score. And if you don't the 5 on 4 ends after 2 minutes. Love it!
The thing is most in not all on this list sound pretty feasible and kinda good. That shows how broken the NBA in its present state IMO -Make it take it -Different rim height every quarter - mascott free throw in 4th qtr (that eliminates game fixing by refs in 4th) Comedic ways help NBA be taken more seriously.
Years after I graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, IN., I was surprised to learn that Mr. Letterman was a Notable alumni. Along with: Rosevelt Colvin 2× Super Bowl champion (XXXVIII, XXXIX), Wayne Gretzky..... just to name a few. ☺☺☺
Oh, man... this reminds me of when late night comedy shows were funny. Hold the line, Inside Guys! This is the last place on television where people are allowed to have fun and be funny.
