There are violinists, there are virtuosos, there are artists, and then there are magicians like the great David Oistrakh who leave us speechless and in deep admiration and gratitude for his gift to us all. Thank you Mr. Oistrakh!
What a beautiful performance. The mastery continues through his son Igor, showing how well he must've taught him. Thank you for recovering and posting this wonderful recording. Both men were gifted by God, and these recordings speak it so loudly.
OISTRAKH ADMITTED THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE EXACTING TECHNIQUE THAT MICHAEL RABIN HAD FOR PLAYING THE PYROTECHNICAL PASSAGES. HOWEVER, WHAT HE DID HAVE WAS MUSICIANSHIP THAT WAS PRACTICALLY UNRIVALED. I NOTICED HE ADDED HIS OWN CODA ON THIS PIECE. HE WAS A PHENOMENAL VIOLINIST & FAR BETTER THAN ANY OF TODAY'S.
Magistral interpretación del Legendario y Prestigioso Violinista David Oistrakh ; ejecutando de manera Magistral la Obra Maestra del Virtuoso VIolinista y Compositor NICOLO PAGANINI .
So sweet, his Tchaikovsky violin concerto makes me cry every time I listen to it, it's like there's a stream of emotion flows out of his violin, fantastic performance.
Fabrice Jean Pierre yes , u r somewhat right. Heifetz was undoubtably a true genius. He wasnt the best. I think that there hasnt been the one violinist in the golden age of violinists that is better. Heifetz is amazin at bazzini but vengerovs performance is equally as good. King David is a true genius as well. If u study music, i would like u to watch a performance of the thaickovsky concerto opus 35. See king davids and then heifetz. U see, there is no good violinist for every piece. Kogan is the best for pagannini, king david is the best for thaickovsky and mendellsohn. Heifetz is really good at mainly technical pieces but he plays bach really bad comared to hiliary hahn. So yes, i did listen to heifetz. But plz stop havin '' heifetz fever '' he was a genius but not the best.
+Susan Malinverno And Oistrakh's Sibelius was fantastic! [Currently own a CD of Oistrakh and Ormandy's Philadelphia Orchestra doing Tchaikovsky and Sibelius, 1954. Really great find!]
@@susanmalinverno933 Heifetz WAS AND IS the best, it's not a fever, it's a matter of taste and personal preference. You even can't compare Heifetz's bach to Hahn's, because at that time they didn't have so much knowledge about baroque, though Heifetz's Chaconne (the newer one) is the best.
