Having read a lot about Igor’s Tchaikovsky but this was the first time ever I was able to listen to arguably the best interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto. His tone is really velvety. Thank you so much
Надо отдать должное Ойстраху - он молодцом. Выдал своё прочтение этого шедевра...от марта до декабря 1980-го время пролетит быстро - мне было 17, а ему неполных 50. Для меня он остался живым навсегда - 24 декабря мы повидались в Москве один раз и это запомнилось навсегда - его голос, его такт и внимание...мне радостно сейчас в 60 лет вернуться в далёкое время. Вечная память чудесному музыканту !!!
Thank you for posting this video. It is great to see Igor Oistrakh in performance. He is one of the most underrated violinists. I love his superb recording of this work which is one of the best in the catalog.

Holy cow!! I thought that thing was going to catch on fire he had it going so fast right before the big majestic theme just before the development! Really clean playing, amazing technique, and speed to burn..
@@xNeoGenesisWhat do you “agree” with??? His tempo is fast in the finale, but what does that have to do with being “rude”? Is Heifetz “rude”? Because his tempos would put Oistrakh to shame, and that was a standard for him. Is there a hidden meaning In not understanding here🤷🏻♂️
