What I really love about David (aside from his absolutely phenomenal talent) is that he doesn't say "Thank you" while receiving applause after singing to his master. He says things like "Amen" and "Praise God" because all glory should go to God. That's the heart of a true worshipper!!!

This song was written by Bill Gaither, who wrote “He Touched Me” and many others you’d recognize if you look him or Gloria (his wife) up. David has been part of the Gaither Homecoming group (all of the other performers you see in the videos) since the 1990s. He’s also been a part of the Gaither Vocal Band on and off since that time as well. He is truly a once in a generation voice and he uses it to proclaim God’s glory and to show people Jesus’s love and acceptance. 🎼❤️

“No More Night” is NOT an original David Phelps song….although you can’t tell it by the way he sings it. The first time I heard David was actually at a live Gaither Reunion concert here in Houston (he’s from here). I had never heard of him, but he came out, Bill introduced him as the Gaither Vocal Bands new tenor. He sang a duet with Candy Christmas and I know my mouth had to be open the entire time he was singing, I don’t think there’s another person with a voice like his. Josh Groban has a great voice, but once you’ve heard David, you know there’s no one else out there like him. Phenomenal voice.

I’m happy to see your appreciation for David. I have listened to him do songs 10 times over live and each time he is spot on and never falters. Like you I just lost my father and I’m struggling like you. I walked in his footsteps for the last 8 years of his life as he battled a lung condition and was the one and only person with him during the final months. It was a gift but it’s hard knowing things he suffered that I will know alone to give him dignity. David wrote a song about lost that truly touched me and made my dad feel more present. It’s on RU-vid called Fly Again on his Stories and Songs playlist. It’s beautiful and might bring you comfort as well. This man has been singing songs of faith and worship for over 20 years. He did an album of original and covers 4 years ago. The video of him with both daughters, the entire family can sing, can be found in Streaming From The Phelps Family Barn playlist. The song End Of The Beginning is a favorite. You will feel the spirit and his voice will not disappoint in all he sings.

Great to hear a criticism from someone who not only appreciated the amazing voice of David Phelps but also the beautiful lyrics, written by Walt Harrah. Any song by David Phelps is worth listening to but one of my favourties is, 'He's Alive'. David almost 'speaks' the words but tells Peter's story with such emotion.

I don't know how he holds a note that long and never waivers. This song gives me chills, I can barely contain myself while I listen. Glory be to God.

All the people on the stage behind him are wonderful gospel singers. Some are from groups and some are solo artist. Bill Gaither did a lot of recordings with lots of gospel singers.

This song was originally sung by Glen Campbell, on his album of the same name. That is also beautifully done. This is David’s signature song, he sings it at every concert.

”No More Night” was written by Walt Harrah and was released by Morris Chapman in 1984. Glenn Campbell released it in 1985, a really nice version. Of course nobody can touch David on this version, or any version of any song. Only one David Phelps.

And End of the Beginni g, written by Phelps, is an amazing witness. And the way he uses his voice, the pauses, the soft tender notes at times ... you WILL love them, too. 💖
