That audience is filled with some of the top Gospel singers, many of them award winning performers themselves. They were not just listening, they were watching in awe. He may be the best tenor I have ever heard, that includes Pavarotti. He may actually be the best overall singer I have ever heard.
This is a great song for our time of pandemic and fear. It's all temporary, and we can have faith that eternity will be without all of the suffering here below, no more tears, no more night.

I’ve been listening to David for many, many years and it never seems to become ordinary. Each time I listen I am more amazed at the power, strength and finesse of his voice and the manner in which he sings. He is the very best as far as I feel. None other has his style or power of breathe and ability to hold a SOLID note for an amazing amount of time. He is truly one of God’s gifts to us all.

This initial group formed in 1980. The group including Guy Penrod and David Phelps wasn’t formed until 1997. Trivia note: Other than Bill, Mark is the longest serving member of the group. He was in from 1988-2002, and then again from 2009-2013.
There is no equal to David Phelps. Some have come close but my breath catches in my throat when I hear David singing this and other songs including All Is Well with My Soul.
I'm proud to say that I sang with the Gaither's in concert while i was in college (with our concert choir.) It was an amazing experience. We also got to sing with Larnelle Harris (different concert). It was a very moving experience. My favorite part was rehearsals with Larnelle. One of the pieces we sang was Steal Away. It was during his Unbelievable Love tour.

I am a HUGE fan of David Phelps....my FAVORITE singer for years! I was also blown away when i discovered him. My favorite song that he sings is "The Dream"...and he sings it with the Gaither Vocal Band. His voice acrobatics give me the chills, along with the excellent content of the lyrics. Hope you will check that one out...if only for your personal enjoyment.

Check out David doing an impromptu performance at the piano at his home singing "I Love the Lord." I have been a fan of David's for awhile now and I didn't know he played piano either! Incredibly talented man! And hats off to Baylor music dept. for helping turn his raw talent into a masterpiece! Btw, Baylor has a pretty good basketball program too, lol.

He’s phenomenally gifted and he’s honed his gift so beautifully! Watch his performance live of “Water.” He co-wrote it with Gloria Gaither, and sings it with his daughter Maggie. I can’t watch it without tears. It is so powerful.

Such a powerful message and you mentioning that even though the reaction was meant for the singing was so needed. Always love southern gospel, and definitely would love more of your reactions to that. Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson do some beautiful versions of true southern/country gospel. David is fantastic! I’ve seen him twice. I just wish I had been able to see Anthony Burger in concert. Anthony is the pianist. Child prodigy. His story is nothing but miraculous! Sadly he passed away way too soon. Apparently God needed him in heaven tickling the ivories!
My favourite song of David's. This man just touches my heart and soul everytime he uses that beautiful voice of his. I believe God anointed him especially to be able to reach out and connect to people everywhere 🙏 I lost a son to suicide 4 years ago and I played David's songs over and over, this song in particular gave me so much comfort. I felt like through David, God was telling me my child was back in his Heavenly Home in Jesus's loving arms. What a gift, what a voice, thankyòu God for the gift of David Phelps. Remarkable.
