David sings with such feeling and passion. He also has such a gift for writing songs. I am pretty sure he wrote this after his sister died. I may be wrong.
Lyle you’ve never reacted to this song. I’ve never missed one of your reactions and most I’ve listened to a Dozen times. I do recall seeing David discussing this song in an interview. This was written as he and the whole family were dealing with Sherri’s loss (his sister). He mentioned they’d been together literally his whole life, personally and professionally as she traveled with him and she was Lori’s best friend. She snd the children were also extremely close. It hit them all very hard. The Freedom taping was well after her passing and he write the song before that time. In the interview, once again, he allowed us to see and feel his pain. I love the fact he makes no pretense about being the “super Christian” or the “ got it all together” guy. He’s real with us and that’s one of many reasons why we love him and his work . . . and you . . . so dearly! Blessings

Thank you, Lyle. It makes me appreciate David even more, which I didn't think it was possible, when he humbles himself and shares his heart. Many in this world are hiding with and in their pain, just like David describes. I pray, and I know David does also, that this song will reach into those hearts and lives and help them reach out to Jesus to rescue them. There is no shame in admitting you are lost, in a mess, and need Jesus to fix what is wrong so they can once again find joy.

Lyle...the bottom line is and cutting through the chase is this....do you...and anyone reading this …have a personal relationship with Jesus. Not just a belief or an emotional knowledge....but have you ever called on Him in repentance and with forgiveness and to ask Him to come in to your heart and life and to save a you? A personal relationship. That's Bible...not me. Jesus is the only wat to God...to Heaven …when we die. The only way.
Lyle, I need to ask you this: are you saved or do you count the Catholic way of confession for salvation? I don’t mean to sound rude, but I’d rather offend someone into heaven than to be quiet for someone to go to hell. Catholic confessions do absolutely nothing. Priests should have never been made, because Jesus is the last priest and our high priest. Confession will do nothing but send people to hell. Jesus is our mediator, from us to our Father in heaven. Man cannot be a mediator to God, because we as humans are imperfect. Jesus is the only perfect one on earth. To be saved, you have to believe the gospel, which is in 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4. The prayer to receive salvation isn’t what saves you, it’s the heart’s intent to believe in Jesus. 1st) realize and confess that you’re a sinner and wicked at heart. 2nd)ask Jesus for forgiveness of your sins and to be your personal Lord and Savior. 3rd) believe in your heart that Jesus died, was buried and on the third day, was resurrected (the gospel in 1st Corinthians). 4th) confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior. Finally, thank Him for becoming your Lord and Savior. Like I said it’s not the prayer that saves you, but the intent in your heart to believe in Jesus. Once your saved, your sins past/present/future will be forgiven and wiped away. Even if you sin, you’re no longer responsible for that sin, BUT it’s not a get out of jail free card, so to speak. A true believer hates their sin. Even if we commit a sin, we’ll hate that we did it. We shouldn’t willingly sin. Jesus loves us more than we can imagine.
