Kyle’s spotter thought Reutimann only wrecked himself but David knew exactly what he was doing. It was more like surgery than a wreck. He knows every nut and bolt of a race car.
David Reutimann always acted weird when interviewed. He never would look at the person he was talking too and always seemed SUPER shy!!!! In Michael Waltrips book, he says that Aarons didnt want Reutimann driving their car because he HATED interviews and appearances. If you go back and watch, he was in 3 different commercials for Aarons and NEVER spoke a single word in any.
I met Reuti when he raced outlaw sprints at Bronson Speedway in Florida the year before he started running in Cup. He was as down to earth and non-pretentious as they come, just a really nice guy who is easy to talk with. I got the feeling that he is uncomfortable with praise and fame as he would kinda shuck off being told he is great (as opposed to a hell of a driver, which he is), and I suspect he was just very uncomfortable in front of cameras on national TV. BTW, in the races I saw him in, he flat ran away from everyone else in the field. The dude can drive.
Sterling Crockett I feel your assessment is spot on. Always thought he was a down to earth and humble guy and that IS a good thing........which made it all the sweeter when he killed Kyle’s chance of a Cup title! Too often nice is considered weak and that’s just not always the case.

I worked with his cousin and spotter Shawn Reutimann at Buddy Foster Chevrolet in Zephyrhills, Florida about 10 years ago. I never met David, but if he's anything like his cousin, he's probably a pretty great guy! Shawn was the manager of the collision center and he helped me out in a huge way when my dad backed his Jeep into my Charger; got one of his guys to fix it for me for free! (Also just in case anyone looks up the dealership, it's not anywhere near what it used to be. In fact I think it's only the auto body shop now. The recession in 2008 was the beginning of the end for that dealer's glory days, but it used to be a really nice place.)

Child ? Haha well you don't get to make history more than once: double sweeps, 4 or 5 back to front wins in his career, all tracks checked off, and an inaugural winner and many more I can't mention. Also you don't just get a championship (many more to come) and 50 career wins (many more to come) and say that driver is a child. He acts like a child for a reason. If he acts like a child but performs shitty like Dale Jr then that would be an issue, but the guy acts like a child so he can win races and make more history and go down as one of the greats.

Your reason for thinking so? He got MWR's first two wins when the cars were crappy and if it wasn't for things such as frequent engine blowups he would've had a shot at making The Chase. One year at Pocono he did have a shot at making The Chase before Denny Hamlin wrecked him. He's also not a start 'n park. What I said is true, Tommy Baldwin Racing is fielding two cars on a one car budget.
As much as I understand why Reutimann retaliated (He's been a punching bag for who knows how long: wrecked at Richmond by Montoya, wrecked at Pocono in 2010 when he still had a shot at making The Chase by Hamlin, run over at Charlotte by McMurray and Keselowski, and wrecked by Newman at Dover when he had strong car) I still disagree with his timing not during The Chase when Kyle's racing for the championship and is walking a very thin line between gaining ground and losing it.
@mawilford And on the rare event of Kyle making the Chase, what's his standing at the end of the Chase? 9th? 10th? Maybe if he's lucky. He consistantly folds up under the pressure of the Chase.
When you think about David had probably just been pushed over the edge because take a look at my first comment about him being run over so many times. Run over by MCMURRAY one of the cleanest drivers in the series, wrecked by Denny Hamlin when he still had a shot at making The Chase, wrecked by Ryan Newman when he had a shot at winning. So yes I do believe that David should've retaliated, but not at the time he did.
What are you talking about? He's racing for Tommy Baldwin racing and would be running great if it wasn't for the fact that TBR is fielding 2 cars on a 1 car budget. Reutimann got MWR's first two wins and that was when the cars were crappy and could barely manage to stay in the top 35 in owners points.

he hit him in the read tire hints why it bounced off and didn't actually spin him which in case bent everything out of shape it won't takes a 1/16 of a inch here and there to change the way the cars are setup completely

exept the difference between this and the hornaday accident was the hornaday accident was under caution. this one could have been an actual racing accident. Unlikely, but possible
@TittyTittyBangBangXX In all respect Kyle didn't really apologize...he took 5% of the responsibility when he was the one who had as much room on the track as possible....and also.....Kyle wasn't in the chase...he was out of the chase last season remember....he had a terrible season last year...and again if Busch had apologized (to their faces) to Harvick,Bowyer(for wrecking him),and Hornaday I wouldn't care but when you put the blame on the other driver when you caused the accident it's yours
The team is not basically the same. The team didn't really get good until this year. When Reutimann was driving for MWR organization was mediocre and cars were 80% of the time very bad. Why do you think Dale Jarrett's performance dropped from an average finish of 17 with Yates Racing to about 30 with MWR?

There is a real reason why no one would do anything about it, and it's because you go around wrecking people like it's going out of style. Can't stand Kyle, and it's a shame because he was the young protege in NASCAR and all of his talent is wasted with crap like this.
people need to keep this incident in mind. Just because your in the chase, it doesn't make you special. Theres still 31 other guys on the track trying to finish off their season the best they can.

@wsouth1988 The talk is that M&Ms will only step back onbard the Sprint Cup car in 2012 if Kyle walks the plank first. I hope they make good on that threat. NASCAR cover up for his "misdemeanours" because they still think people see him as NASCAR's Next Big Thing. Pfffft. Hamlin, Keselowski and Bayne took that mantle from him a long time ago, so basically NASCAR's marketing people are wasting their time. Busch is the John Daly of stock car racing. Kyle Bush is the BEST "Drive by the seat of his pants" driver anywhere. His trouble he knows how to act when he wins but refuses to acknowledge his shortcomings when he loses.. This is a Big turn off for the majority of the NASCAR fans. I've never seen him admit fault about any incident he was involved in. Everybody's fault except his. If he drove a Ford, he'd be in the wall via Martin Truex.

Having a rain shortened victory and one win from an actual good race isn't going to sustain you a long NASCAR career. Needless to say, when you just park your car on the racetrack to force a Green-White-Checkered finish, you deserve to lose all respect as a racecar driver. At least Aric Almirola has some consistency to back up his few-- and chaotic-- wins.
If there's was 100% certainty every nascar race kyle busch would be put in the wall and end up with an undriveable race car i would buy a premium seat at each race. When he quits, nascar will see a massive increase in attendance. I can't see why anyone would want to be in the same room with him or in the same state even. In his last race the next day will be the greatest day in the history of all racing....
Hate Kyle Busch? If there's one thing in NASCAR that fans should love, it's someone with personality. Kyle Busch LOVES this sport and he's not a cry baby or all the stupid 5 year old names everyone calls him.. He's competitive! He loves the sport of NASCAR.
