I love the way I laugh explosively before I’m aware I’m doing it. He is unique and very, very funny about awful things, mundane things and just real life.
David can be so profound -- it's just bracketed with his humor, irony -- such as his and Lisa's self-consciousness after the movie, "as if we were auditioning for the roles of ourselves." Man, that is so sublime it knocks me out. When I read such a description, I will often earmark the book page, just to savor it, reflect on it. I love how Sedaris lets us get right inside his marvelous head.
