David Sinclair OAM is an Australian biologist based at Harvard University who is leading scientific fight against the inevitability of aging.
Dr Sinclair believes aging is a disease, and we can find a cure for it.
In the process, his lab has cured blindness in mice and has created tiny little brains out of human stem cells, which look like “little flesh-coloured peas”.

82 now; two years I was in pretty good shape but starting to go downhill. Lifelong weight training but low fat, high sugar, alcohol, high carb, constant eating was taking it’s toll. Gradually switched to low carb, hi fat, time restricted eating, supplements. My body is undergoing a healing process, where everything is improving. I think that one is never too old to start significant rejuvenation.

I agree with Dr Sinclair's viewpoint, which is better accepted in Asian countries, that the wisdom that comes from having lived life is to be valued. Ageism, especially in western culture perpetuates the belief that one is "over the hill" past a certain age. Why should age be a factor if one is fit, sound of mind, and can still be a productive member of society? With the diminishing birth rates in developed countries, this outdated mindset puts undue strain on the younger generation to support the older. I think it's a wonderful goal to try to live to 120, regardless of whether you actually achieve that because think about how much more you can achieve in that time. Instead of thinking you need to retire and be "put to pasture", you could be planning to start a totally new career if you choose to do so, go back to school or explore many new avenues of endeavor. This second stage in life, where you are past the responsibility of bringing up children, can be focused on self-development and trodding down the paths less traveled.

A more accurate manner of stating what is being referred to as slowing the aging or putting the foot on the brake paddle is to take the foot of the accelerator. I wonder...... when it comes to speculating how many more years of life a certain generation may have as a result of current and future medical breakthroughs and improved lifestyles, could it be possible we're grossly UNDERESTIMATING those numbers? Said differently, perhaps the developments will progress at a much faster rate than most expect, causing humans who are currently in their 50's to potentially live to be 130+? A question in regard to fasting or time restricted feeding. We are told for example we need 4700mg of potassium per day, that is just one of many recommendations to keep our body running efficiently. With time restricted feeding how do we make sure we meet those goals? Is it possible that our body doesn't actually run on a 24 hour clock and we don't need this daily? Or does digestion itself dictate our 'daily' nutritional requirements. I'm confused, any comments?
@Layoorah
@Layoorah Год назад
When doing long fast you should be consuming electrolytes. It depends on you and your body how long you can safely go without potassium but if you are going to be doing a fast of 24+ hours or exercising while fasting 18+ hours I highly recommend electrolytes. You can find zero calorie fasting electrolytes online. Be careful choosing, check the labels.

Dear David, imagine there is one nice hospital in a particular place which can hold and cure up to 1000 patients. and suddenylly, you start adding more pesticides and chemicals to the soil, where that community is fed from and as a result, number of patients start significantlly increase... now tell me Mr. Sinclair, suppose you cant extend the existing hospital, how do you think that hospital will respond to that situation? Meaning, how our already depleted and contaminated soil with lots of chemicals can produce enough and clean food if you extend avarege Joe's life 5-7 years resulting rapid increase in world population?
