I always feel bad for David Spade whenever Chris Farley is mentioned. it seems like a 1 in a billion friendship that was ended way too early.

Every time I hear anything that mentions Chris Farley I can't help but tear up a little, the guy was so great, and I don't think anyone knew at the time just how special he was. One of my Dad's friends used to spend a lot of time in Hazelden treatment center as a kid, because his mom was the head psychiatrist there, and that was where Chris Farley would go to try to kick his drug addictions, something he tried a couple of times. He met Chris one time, in the center's church, and the only thing he could think of to say was a quick and awkward "Hey." He was still a teenager at the time and probably a little star struck, and I think Chris knew it, so Chris said "Hey" back with a big head nod like he was trying to play it cool, turned, and walked straight into a potted plant in the aisle, almost knocking it down but not quite, because he was able to just barely catch it in time. It was one of Chris Farley's classic, over the top ways to try to get a laugh out of someone, and even though he was going through a lot of things at the time, he still wanted to make the kid who wanted to say hi to him laugh, and I think that is one of the most beautiful gestures of kindness and goodwill that somebody can do for someone else.

Say what you will about David Spade, but after Farley passed, it never seemed like he was upset that his career took a blow. He always seemed like he just was a wreck about losing his friend. They say Chris and his bro used to go there and try to fool them with fake ids lol. Alegedly Chris's id is around the store somewhere. There's also a signed pic of him on the wall. I al8so went to the same middle school he did and once had a substitute that taught Chris back in the day! Chris sounded like an amazing guy! Gone way too soon... The world lost something special the day he passed.

I do like the Conan moments where they talk about 'real' stuff and not always hahahahaha. One can really sense Conan's respect for the issue and modest approach. Points to him. More of that.

He genuinely loved Chris that was his best frend. I am glad he is able to talk about it now. He had a hard time with his death. But i know deep down inside Chriss wuld have wanted this even though people had nothing nice to say. I mean behind all of if Chris was a great actor and still to this day brings us alot of joy. What is there not to like about that. Thank you chris you sure make me happy everytime tommy boy is on. you are definately missed and i wished you had people that understood inner demons i can relate. But its ok your at peace while we are here still learning how to cope with them.

I just watched Tommy Boy since they put it on RU-vid movies. My god what a classic. Been watching it my entire childhood to adulthood.

That whole crew, Sandler, Rock, Farley, Meadows, Spade, everyone. That's the kind of friendship and brotherhood that's once in a lifetime.

That was a great movie and brings back a fond memory. My husband loved that movie and watched it a few times with the kids. He was picking up our son at daycare one day. Jokingly my husband pretended to put on my sons coat. My son who was about 4 at the time looked up and started singing, "Fat guy in a little coat."

Honestly? To me Chris Farley and David Spade are both legends and it's so sad that I didn't ever have the chance to meet both of them in person back in the day. Still on my bucket list to meet David Spade tho, so i'll keep working on that some day.
