Cool, I will simply copy my response to you as well. would say it’s heavily inspired by the intro melody of "Pela luz dos olhos meus" but it’s definitely not a rip-off. By your measure practically NO new music would be allowed to be released. Every great musician has let themselves be inspired by others and many of them even use the word ‘stole’ to describe their action. It’s what you do with what you’ve stolen that either becomes a copy outright or evolves into something new. Let me ask you, do you like Hip Hop because it’s unabashedly based around stealing loops from others and building new beats around them?

In fact, this is exactly how anything and everything evolves over time including science. How do you think we ended up rock in the fifties unless someone borrowed from someone else and blended it with something else? In fact there’s a guy who created an algorithm to produce every imaginable melody possible and saved them on a hard drive to prove just this point.
