With the flex bus architecture added in 17 and the track expansion, there’s no question Blackmagic have started a push towards providing a more robust solution for those who want to mix their films in Resolve, not just edit and color them. Still, they need to roll out an “ATEM Mini” category control surface as a stepping stone for those trying to get a start in Fairlight. I know I’m not quite ready to drop $3,200.00 for a Desktop Console. Do you know of any third-party MIDI mixers and/or controllers which integrate reasonably well with Resolve right now?

@@DiegeticAudio In the settings there’s an MCU (Mackie) control option, and maybe that means something. Unfortunately, I’m not at all familiar with studio equipment and don’t want to lose a lot of time and money down the rabbit hole of trial and error. Plus film mixes usually expand into dozens of tracks. The last thing I want is a console that can’t handle enough ins and outs. I have a short film mix to do soon. I will keep asking around to see if anyone has a suggestion, but I’ve gotten to know the interface well enough that I will be able to get things done without. Have a great week.

My friends and I are really having trouble collaborating on Davinci Resolve 18. We want to all be able to edit certain clips amongst ourselves and create one video with all of our editing but we can't figure it out. Would you mind helping us? I sent you an email if you could email me back!

Unfortunately, I have no friends, so I've never encountered that issue. I wish I could say I'm an expert but I'm really an audio engineer and understand fairlight best out of everything. I wish you luck on fixing your issue! 🤔
