Hi, Rich. I bought a manual wind regulator type watch from Davosa, through their distributor d.freemont, in 2003. I had some quality issues with the watch initially, but these were handled promptly to my satisfaction and I have enjoyed the watch ever since. As I look at it now, the watch has survived the years very well and I would not hesitate to recommend the brand. They are a family owned business that deserve more recognition, so thanks for the review.

Rich, very good job explaining on how an homage can be more than a copycat. I agree Davosa is much more than that with their collections. I mean I really like some of their other watches you showed. Their Batman is just an extension color wise to their other colors. If Ginault was as transparent as Davosa as u said, I might give them more of a chance. There was a nice white and black option u showed that I like. I’m going to check out their website. Fantastic job. 👍👍👍

Another great review Rich! Though I am generally not a fan of homage watches, this Davosa is a very interesting GMT alternative. I love the look of the ceramic bezel, but it is certainly a very thick watch which is definitely a negative. Thanks again for introducing us to another very cool watch.

Hello Rich. Rolex GMT “Batman” are selling here in Australia for $AUD24k which is an incredible amount of money for a stainless steel watch. Most people with a normal job and family with mortgage this is unattainable. For this reason my stance towards homeage watches has changed. As long as people know and understand what they are buying is not the real deal.

Saw this brand first time at Changi Airport, their watches look good. I think if you like the style or functionality, that buying this brand is probably a good decision. I do like the Batman look too, and with GMT it would be very useful. Thanks for the review.

Looks like it came out of the same factory as the Squale Batman, case back, and divers extension are identical, only difference I see, is the Squale bracelet tapers. Would like to see side to side comparison. Great review!!

Rich, since our last conversation I was seriously considering picking up the Tourby GMT. As you know, I love GMT watches. I have the Oris, Squale, and Alpina. I also like collecting micro brands and those brands that are not as mainstream. I have the Certina DS Action and the Davosa Ternos. You know that I respect and trust your opinion, how does this GMT compare to the Tourby?

However, I would not hesitate to go with Tourby, there is a total trust factor there. Tourby is just buttery smooth at what they do. But let me know your decision. I look forward to it. _Na na na na na na...Possibly one of the best looking Batman homage watches to date. If I didn't already own the original I would consider it. Great review by the way! I always acknowledge and appreciate the preparation that goes into these videos. You make it look effortless, which I know it isn't. Even if microbrands aren't your thing, you've got to love Rich! Really think alot of the homage market caters to people that can't afford or get a legitimate sub . But I also like that style an look of the sub so it's cool that you have brand's out there that make quality affordable opion with about 90% of the feel of a sub an think Ginault maybe top dog in this segment but it's nice to have other even more affordable options.

the Steinhart GMT titanium is an incredible watch without being a homage. 15.5 mm is too thick too. Steinhart is thinner and has a domed sapphire crystal.

Hi, ed! 15.5 is a chunky monkey. Davosa also has other, in my opinion, great color combos that are unique. This does have a slightly domed sapphire crystal as well. Sorry, I should have pointed that out. But if it's not for you, it's not. Thanks as always, brother. ✌️😁

That is right on with the Steinhart Ocean One gmt.. Even to the sizing.. However Im told the Davosa has a higher quality reputation than Steiny.

@@whatsonthewrist Ya know, my . research on watches started 30 years too late. It led me to a ridiculous waiting list for a Tudor Black Bay GMT Pepsi, which I refuse to do, because I will be passed up at any AD that has a customer with a sales history. I am being penalized for just wanting to spend 4k and one watch! So my 2nd choice is Davosa, but rather large. So this leads me to Steinhart, which is ok but not great bracelets.

Typically I don’t like homages and I don’t think this particular model is just an homage because Rolex doesn’t own the color wheel. If a company wants to add a black and blue version then so be it as long as they have original color options. For Davosa, they do according to you although I wasn’t familiar with this brand. That black/white combo looks fresh. If there is one part I may nitpick it’s their use of the words Swiss twice on the dial, underneath Davosa and again with Swiss Made at the bottom which is redundant in my opinion, but other than that it is very tasteful done. It is expensive at $1300 but it’s also in-line with watches like Christopher Ward and Steinhart. How do you compare Davosa Ternos to your Ginault Ocean rover? Really nice video Rich. 👍

Hi, Stephen! You know I actually said those exact words regarding having Swiss in two places on the dial. So, I agree it is not necessary across the top of the dial. Having Swiss Made is good enough above 6:00 and I realized I must have edited that segment out, but I agree with you. We certainly have great options available to us at this price point. Both Davosa and Ginault are well-made and very different. I don't think Ginault's OR is one particular Submariner, instead it is a mash up of different Submariner's from different models. It doesn't look like the current Submariner. Maybe I'll do a head to head comparison in the future. Thank you, brother. 👊😁

Dial and half the bezel grey, replacing black...switch the cyclops to 6 o'clock position...different hands! Those small tweeks and no homage! The crown, gave it away, but from a distance, I don't think anybody could tell the difference! I have been aware of Davosa, since the early 2000's and I don't understand why they thought they needed to do an homage ...I mean, it is a nice one, you can't hate it, but it does raise my eyebrows, given how long, the brand has been around!

i really do not understand watch snobs. i own rolexes and it's very ok for me to see and wear homages. watches are small things, you can only design so much, it is inevitable designs become similar.

One of the great debates in all of watchdom is the concept of the homage watch. As you say, the lines are pretty much binary, either you hate them or it you don’t. What I’ve noticed is how the ire seems to burn with fire of a thousand suns when it’s a Rolex homage, but when say Seiko or Citizen does a homage of the Cartier Tank there is a collective shrug from the anti-homage zealots. This Davosa looks well made and an alternative to the Rolex Batman which is now commanding ever-increasing prices on the used market. If someone likes the look, but not the price of a BLNR, then this watch should provide a quality experience with excellent components. My one criticism is it appears to be a chunky monkey and very thick - Planet Ocean levels of thickness. I wonder if that would end up tiring one’s wrist with that size and weight?

Davosa also makes divers win 40mm that are thinner. For me, I like thick watches as long as the diameter doesn't allow it to wear past my wrist bone. 👍😁

DAVOSA please tell me why this watch is 15.5mm thick. The case and crown shape look identical to the Squale 30 atmos. Uni directional bezel? Pressed metal clasp? $1300.00 ? Yikes!! In this video, you actually say this watch is not trying to look like a Rolex. That's exactly what this watch is attempting to do. I don't dislike this watch, but there is plenty of room for improvements.

Hi, Ryan! I believe you addressed your comment for the Davosa Team. However, I will comment on the part where you wrote I said this watch is not trying to look like a Rolex. To clarify, the Ternos Collection is made up of models that probably would not be compared to Rolex, any Batman or Pespi (by any brand) will evoke this comparison. To be fair to Davosa, they do not make their dials a carbon copy of a Rolex dial. Hence, my opinion that Davosa's Ternos lineup is their own. I hope this clears some things up. Thank you! ✌️😁
