This replay is definitely older maybe... a year or two? Buuut it's still a decent replay I hope it helps anyone interested in necrons learn a little something. And as always stay tuned for more of umm... whatever I decide to upload as always discord link in the description.
I always preferred DC over soulstorm. Necrons were my main, for as long as I remembered. I always keep 2 squads of warriors - early game or late game, because they are cheap bodies. I always have at least one scarabs (preferably two) just for building the generators, and when I hit 10, I go for second monolith to increase generetor cap to 20 and to restore the monolith as soon as the first one is destroyed so the enemy doesn't have time to rest. In 2v2 I was often agreeing with my ally, that he's defending and I tech. At my best, I was able to rush a monolith in ~9 minutes, with a record time of 8:11 Have you tried the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for SS?
As far as mods go yeah I've tried a few but I prefer vanilla these days although I do still run firestorm once in a blue moon. Necrons are an absolute blast to play and not a whole lot changed with soulstorm for them, except that sisters and dark eldar are insanely lopsided matchups on par with eldar they're not fun as necrons to be against
Hey! I just started being interested in this game because one of my friends blew me up recently with SM while I was playing Necrons. And let me tell you this video (alongside the Necron build order video) really helped me. I was submerged with his fast attacks at first but doing this sort of death ball of warriors/immortals turned the tides. thanks my man. PS : Are there some major differences between soulstorm and dark crusade?
There are some pretty massive differences between DC and SS not just related to flying units but also some balance changes between the two specifically targeting necrons/tau. I'd wager the strategy is relatively the same between both games but necrons likely have it easier in DC.
