Looks like there would be more turning room if they backed down the ramp from the other direction?

Yes, that would make it easier, but the parking lot is one way, and someone is almost always trying to leave. It's fun to watch people in their cars honking nonstop when there's 3 or 4 boats lined up launch. They can't pass on the sides because that's where the cars park, so many will back up and leave through the entrance...until another boat trailer comes in and they get stuck and can't back out. Honestly, I feel for them, but it is what it is.

Meredith town docks ramp...NOT challenging. Totally set up for launching. Try putting in at the launch right next to Shibley's in Alton Bay on a busy Saturday with a full parking lot if you want a real challenge. But thanks for the video anyway. It's fun watching people launch.

I didn't realize people still launched there after the state launch across the bay opened. I'll have to grab some ice cream and check it out on a busy weekend. Thanks for the tip!

@MarkDHall yes the new boat launch is great but it gets so busy that I have to use the old one sometimes and damn does that suck! Cars, motorcycles, and people packed in to the area where you're trying to turn and back in. VERY challenging even for veterans. You could set up to film at the new launch on Memorial Day Weekend and get plenty of hilarious footage. It was an absolute sh*tshow last year even though it's a very easy launch. One newbie (an angry older guy), first screamed at me that I was in his way when I was 50' away, then tried to get his boat on the trailer without backing the trailer into the water at all. I was very patient and tried to help him but he didn't want advice. Finally a bystander literally jumped into the guy's truck and backed his trailer into the water. Sad but pretty funny.😂 Wish I had that one on film. Be safe out there this year, my friend! Winnipesaukee is crazy.

@@liv4music We will definitely have to go there and check it out. It sounds like it would be a great spot for a lot of good footage. Thanks again for the insight. I just posted the last video about the Meredith ramp. I made it several weeks ago, so it has the same titles as the others, but it seems that Shibley's may qualify as the new "worst ramp" on the lake. Be safe out there too. With the nice weather we had last week, we were debating whether to head out onto the water, but this weekend made us realize there's still some cold weather ahead for us.

@@liv4music I forgot to mention - if you like boat ramp videos, check Miami Boat Ramps and Alfred Montaner. MBR's videos tend to be 5-10 minutes and show the main highlights, and Alfred's tend to be longer and show everything. Both are great and fun to watch. MBR has one video where the driver looked like he was going to launch but spent 20 minutes trying to get what looked like a brand new boat into the water but never succeeded and eventually just drove off. In another video, the photographer says, "I gotta help them" and runs around from where he was filming and runs all the way to the ramp to help someone out. I tried to find the videos, but they have so many, I couldn't remember which ones they were.

Thanks for the tip. We've never boated there before because of that very reason. I wondered how people got into the ramp with traffic flying by. I'll have to check it out this summer and see how people do.

@MarkDHall it's a nice lake, much quieter, I highly recommend the lake. Biggest thing is to get there early so you can get parking. Ramp is steep and short... and like you said it intersects a busy road but it's do-able.

@@BS0821 It sounds nice. Our problem is we can usually only boat on the weekends because of work, and Lake Winnipesaukee is so busy. I think it's getting busier too (with people who don't know how to drive) because so many places are doing rentals now.

The red truck was way to far left in the lane. You need to pull up to the right curb and hug it while backing down.
