I can’t even imagine what the shift in life must be like after trail - I think I wouldn’t know what to do with myself - so many emotions… accomplishment, pride, a sense of wonder, excitement but also a sense of loss, feeling lost & over stimulation transitioning into “real” life. I totally get you wanting to revisit those places & people. I’m so sorry you weren’t able to connect with BB & BC - I imagine they will be so disappointed too. 😢 Thank you for continuing to vlog & share your thoughts, I so look forward to your “Goooood morning”. You are a treasure and I am so looking forward to watching any upcoming hikes! A fan for life!

I feel you. My after trail experience was five of us getting the train south back to California. Gradually each hiker broke off on their own until it was two of us and then suddenly I was saying goodbye after a meal at Denny’s. I felt so lost … I cried all the way back to LA where I spent four days till I flew home to the UK. The worst part was when the train actually crossed the PCT back in around Acton near where it all started.

Awesome effort Julianne! Your heart was in the right place, no doubt. There's nothing quite like a tramily, tribe, in-group, or "uchi", in Japanese. I wonder if that overwhelming feeling of connection is an oxytocin release! 🤣☮❤🤝

Two cents advice- If trail is open on the section that you had to divert. Drive near the area. Return car, complete the section of the PCT that had been closed. Possibly look into another trail ex: AZ Trail. You have been excellent on the PCT. You're in trail shape, if you got the time & funds, hit the trail(s). All the best! Oh... keep making vids. What a sweet thing to do! You love those two that’s obvious. You were so wired up to see them and you are already reminiscing from only a week ago. Too bad the didn’t do it as you thought and you missed them. Could you have sent them a Garmin message? You are trying hard to keep your disappointment in check but we all know in private you are suffering emotionally. Which is 100% to be expected. Physically you are already recovered. Is this the same woman we saw on trail? Dang you are absolutely stunning when not grungy lol :) Funny as all get out too. I think what we see now is the real Julieann!

Very heartfelt video, Julianne. Perhaps part of your reason for this hike, Early on, was a spiritual quest, and that’s why you found Boujee around Hikertown? Yes. I think a higher power nudged you together…. Good to hear you’re planning a hike with him later this year. Hope the trail around Diamond Lake/ Crater Lake re-opened.

You really need to look into hiking being your line of work on a full-time basis. Pass your passion on. Once again I'll mention leading groups on section hikes etc. Glad you got yer starbies!!! Looked delish. You and Boujee are finding your answers out there, that's why it's so hard when it ends. You don't have all the answers yet.

It makes sense to me - transitioning from such a huge goal and adventure has got to be so difficult! Hang in there RR! Personally I would try to work some kind of seasonal work in a national park or at a ski town in Colorado or something where I could still have outdoor adventures but also make a little money in the interim…

I can only liken your emotions with the feelings I got at the end of a theatre production I worked on with my husband when he directed a youth theatre. There was an immense feeling of pride and achievement and the whole company felt like an extended family, but afterward I felt a big hole in my life. In a way it is like a bereavement . The hole will gradually fill with your plans and you will move on, but it must be especially hard for you to go through this by yourself. I do hope you find a way of connecting with Bobby and Suzie. Meanwhile get stuck in to your new adventure. We hope you take us all along.

Wow, sad you missed "the kids", but coming down off the hiker high can be rough. So you're going to attempt the Diamond Fire Complex reroute, it should be interesting. Watch Duty just sent s report that the Middle Fire has closed the North Entrance to Crater Lake for remediation and I talked with a wildland firefighter yesterday at the store who was moving from the Dismond Complex to an Idaho fire, he said there's still lots of activity down there inside the containment line. If you want to meet Birdcall and Bossbabe call them!! Last four days it was continuous very cold rain. Every thing was very wet !! Yesterday it was sunny and they dried everything by11 . Now they 30 miles to go. Be in town tomorrow by noon. 😊
