In our final reading from the Gospel of John, we hear about the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Fr. Mike points out the connection between the Paschal lamb and Jesus, and also the connection between the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Today's readings are John 19-21 and Proverbs 6:16-22.

I was so unsure about the role of Mary as a Protestant, ever wary to keep Christ first always, but it was Mary that called me to follow Christ to the Catholic church, still I resisted giving Little Mary the respect clearly we see Jesus asking John and all disciples to give her, Mother of the church, precious to be loved and appreciated. It took me time to recognize how very much Mary was the ark of the new covenant, the little queen of heaven who is a mirror reflecting Christ and the glory of God to the world, my mother. It all made so much sense to me in Catholicism and all has enriched my appreciation to follow the model of a Godly woman and put Christ first as she always did. Thanks

Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, and all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts and transform our ways of thinking, deciding, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear and understand the word of God in the Scriptures that we may revere and treasure both the Old and the New Testaments which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness and humility, and with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Help us to be diligent students and faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull and may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Amen.

Day 105..the gift of the Gospel is coming to an end. I've always wondered what pilate thought when Jesus said "You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above; therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin"? Had to make him think about his actions, well before being in the presence of the Messiah! 😮 Obviously he thought of him differently, writing the King of the Jews.. Thank you Jesus for coming to earth and dying for our sins 🙏 ❤ I've always wondered why only Mary Magdalene seen the two angels, and then soon later Jesus? Once again it's kinda strange that the disciples didn't recognize Jesus either, and especially the way he revealed himself to them. Almost exactly as the beginning of the choosing of the twelve!! God works in mysterious ways.. My son, keep your Father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching..such beautiful wisdom! Prayers for Father Mike and all the BIY family who are traveling through God's word ❤ 🙏

Jesus was super tortured and abandoned if at least internally by many of His disciples but He even returns and forgives them. And continues to teach them about the kingdom of God. Almighty living Father! Give us the grace to forgive the shortcomings of those around us and shine the Christian light no matter what! In Jesus' name, amen 🙏🙏🙏

God please help to always choose you above all else. I know I sometimes choose other things, but please forgive my weakness. Please forgive my brokenness. I pray Lord for Father Mike that he may continue to help us see things your way so that we may always choose you order all else. Olson pray for all priest and religious. Thank you so much Father, today was a very moving day for me, it touched the depths of my inner soul and heart, I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirt. Thank you Father. I always had great devotion to Mary, our Mother, but today the way you explained this reading and the role of Mary in our life made have even more profound respect, love and gratitude for MARY MY MOTHER. Thank you so much for explaining the different Greek words for Love. This never made sense until a theology student explained it a couple of years ago. Big difference from the unconditional, agape, love that Jesus offered and the friendship, philia, that Peter offered. Please don't apologize for taking extra time! Amazing how today is Good Friday (04/15/2022) and we are reading our Lord's Passion/Death. Thank you so much Father Mike. I am also watching the "Chosen" I was a bit hesitate to watch because my expectations of "Hollywood" with Jesus is very cautious. Honestly the Chosen is so beautiful, I'm hooked. It's amazing during the "plandemic" the Chosen and it's creators wanted to provide free to all the world. I will definitely support "The Chosen" its creator Dallas Jenkins when they decided to offer "free" - the "impossible math" occurred, with abundance of monetary support from the viewers. Praise God, through all this Chaos and darkness in the world; God does not abandon us. Happy Easter Everyone and yes, He has risen, Peace to all.

For any of you who started this journey January 1, 2022, how awesome is it that this first messianic checkpoint fell during Holy Week and that the crucifixion narrative fell on Good Friday?! Perhaps Fr. Mike and His team planned it this way, but I imagine that would have been hard to do so far in advance. Regardless I rejoice in the Lords timing as this has been such a wonderful gift this Lenten season. Thank you Fr. Mike and Ascension!

I found out about BIY only last year. And I'm totally hooked. It all make sense. It's incredible how the Old testament is relevant to us and how it all comes together. And today I finished the gospel of John. I read it many times, last time few months ago. I read it dutifully with all the footnotes, and I must admit the spirit of the gospel escaped me. But now, these 7 days or so, when I heard it in its entirety with little interruptions, i have no words. I'm at awe. When I read it, it said in the introduction that some scholars argue it may not have been the apostle John who wrote it but some other John. Well, I'm no scholar, but this gospel is written with such an ease and fluidity that only an eyewitness could have done so, somebody who was present when all these things have happened. As you said Father, that it is your favourite gospel, I can see now why. And so it is mine too. Thank you Father and thank you st. John.

So much beauty to absorb about Jesus and the faith he gave us to live by our days on earth. Thank God and thank you Fr. Mike, for gift to connect all things making it so clear like I have not seen it before. The hyssop, such ancient symbol finds it’s way to the narrative of Jesus being crucified as a willing victim to save all of us humans from eternal damnation if we want to be saved through Jesus.
