A long 23km day through varied terrain and despite the grey clouds there was much beauty for me to share ending with a stealth camp in a field.
enjoy!

What were some of the most scenic or memorable moments you experienced along this stretch of The Ireland Way? How did you find beauty amidst the surroundings? Also, are you on Facebook / Insta? I'd love to connect and see more of your journey along The Ireland Way! Let's keep in touch!

@@fahimreza9 sorry it’s taken awhile for me to get back to your question. In this area I really loved the stretch through the pine forest and the way the sound changes inside it. I loved the views and finishing climbs and from a historical perspective I am fascinated by all the old stone walls and buildings. The emerald green of the landscape in general is very different to where I am from and I have loved the pops of colour from the flowers whether they are weeds or in pots and gardens. I don’t love climbing hills but they are always worth it because of the views and the freshness of the air. On the many grey days we have experienced I find myself focusing on a theme such as looking for the small things like insects or how the moss grows. Sometimes it’s just what is around my feet but I always remember to look up or behind me regularly because then you can see how far you have come and things always look different from that perspective.
