Al & Shari’s Waltz by Patti Kusturok
On this Father’s Day, I’d like to premier a brand new waltz that I composed.
My husband Brad’s dad All Freeman was a wonderful man who welcomed me with open arms into the family when I fell in love with his son. When he invited me to call him “dad” I was honoured and felt so loved.
Al sadly passed away last January. The day I fell and broke my arm, we were actually walking on the sidewalk of the funeral home in Grande Prairie drop off clothing.
I strongly feel that my fall was a “nudge” from Al because it resulted not only in a broken arm, but also my cancer diagnosis. Had it not happened, I may have yet to be diagnosed and it would have been that much farther along.
Al’s most treasured love was his wife, Brad’s mom, Shari. I named this waltz for them.
