I wonder how much the boat builder would charge for a set of plans? From studying the videos I bet with some dimensions I could recreate a Longtail riverboat Made in USA. It would be neat to build one with wood grown in the USA and put a american engine on it then race the two boats.
Super cool of you to do the breakdown , it’s even more cool that you chose to get a real long tail and run it on the Florida waters . Like others have said in previous uploads , please don’t wrap it and hide that beautiful wood craftsmanship
Excellent brake down Parker, let's get this man to 100k. You're pod cast room is delicious, the blue tones and light string is so relaxing. Hugs to Winston. Thanks.
Love the breakdown and the transparency with the Longtail riverboat! I have enjoyed watching the journey you have had with this new boat and excited to see it in the states. Also happy birthday to the pup Winston!
Living in the Philippines is so much cheaper as well, the exchange rate to day is almost 58 pesos to 1 us dollar. I'm just like you, I can wait to share gifts ASAP. Great video....
Great breakdown... Think we would all be happy if food prices were the same as places like Thailand (could be done if there wasn't so much politics involved, here in NZ we eat food that we export and re-import or get the crap left overs) Keep enjoying yourself... As a engine builder once said if you know who does it best import them to build it in your own country for a few weeks and this can also give people an experience of a life time
New subscriber here from your brothers channel who's also named Garrett... For a second there I thought TJ Hunt had a second channel about teeth and turbos 😮😂.
Like many I’ve seen these turbo diesel chooching long tails on the internet for a few years now. Your “turn-key” delivered price is right in between what I guessed you paid for just the boat (40-50k). Actual cost is wild, delivery cost is not surprising though. Really sucks you cannot bring that sweet custom built engine but if you sell that back there’s some funds to deduct from the total I guess.
Check and see who needs a container when you are done with it. I wouldn’t doubt if Garrett, JH or someone else in the group could use a container on their land to store stuff in.
Don't they sell coffee table engine blocks out of Thailand? Would be cool if they took that engine apart and made it into an exploded view engine table for you. Maybe as a Christmas present. That's all I'm saying.
so if you hire the boat bilders and buy the tickets in Bangkok fly them to Murica let them build a second one and it will cost you little less than a 3rd of the price... it worth it, make it a video :)
Im a little bumbed regarding no more car content. That was great entertainment. But I watch for you and who you are and your continuing story. Hopefully, the new engine will be as good, or better possibly?
You can get that motor for a lot cheaper than that if you just tear the one down you got and send it in pieces you can't send it all at the same time you got to send it days or even weeks apart but you won't have to pay no 10 grand for a motor
Sometimes cheap ends up being not cheap when you jump through all hoops to get it home, but nobody else is going to have one. If you want it and have the money without any hardship more power to you. Probably technically it's still cheap, I've never played in the speciality boat world.
He should stay with the 4JJ1 motor on it. It would be the first ever 4jj1 in the states which is very cool and 4jj1 would produced better power but a 4bt would be a good idea as the parts are much available in US
9000 dollars for a 40 foot container is A LOT. I hope that was for them to build the thing to hold the boat too. Those containers are not that expensive
I thought that was cheap for a 40 ft container to be shipped here. I have heard guys claiming double that to get cars and other toys shipped here in a container from over seas, maybe weight plays into it too though.
@@lnr12241 Look at his cost breakdown, the 9K was for shipping , i bet he meant shipping container and shipping. At least i hope because like you said, these arent that expensive. Especially close to any ports, these suckers are almost free if you can haul them off.
@DrMitchell Make the engine into a open view coffee table to import it . Thai people are amazing at building those tables . Then re assemble it once it gets to America . The turbo and piping and all the bolt on stuff can just be shipped to America . Problem solved .
Is this CB Media old boat ? He had one started and never finished it . Then sold it to an American , before it hit the water . Congrats on your purchase .
But you have to admit you may have the only long tail boat in the US I don't think you'll see any at the boat club LOL You have to park it in your driveway to piss off the HOA
You obviously aren't anywhere near a bayou... Plenty of long tail boats around. They are almost a necessity in swamps and shallow water. Granted, I've never seen one tricked out like this though.
@Chris-zo5ze What you're talking about is a aluminum hull boat with a air-cooled motor around Louisiana swamps. What he has is a hand built wooden thailand boat not many around at all
@robertjohnson4784 yep... a wooden boat wouldn't last long bashing over logs in a bayou. Still a Longtail though. Those Thai longtails are purpose built drag boats.
It’s a cool boat but where I live and the rivers I run that boat would be match sticks. The gasconade river in missouri would chew up and spit out a wooden boat. Be cool at lake of the ozarks when it’s calm and all of the cut idiots have left for the year
Yea that's its 140000 more, but you put allot of stuff🎉 . 9000 us dollar for shipping that's way way to much guess they suck you bone dry, plus you have to buy a container 🎉 I whis you all the best 🎉
Can you post posted me the engine specs? HP Torque Turbo size Turbo boost psi Weight of engine I’m looking for 2 engines just the engines and shipping them to Connecticut USA
