Beautiful area. I hope that no more critters chew at your trekking poles. Keep trekking. 😀

I always wondered if there was any negatives to using trekking poles for tent poles, guess we know the answer now..

My tent set up has the poles inside the netting. :-)

Pesky animals chewing at your poles. Good thing it wasn’t your tent! I’m surprised you didn’t hear them though!

Even though you are at a high elevation, it still surprises me to see snow in July

Beautiful scenery up there! Where’s your 🐻 spray? A grizzly killed a biker near the 🇨🇦/Montana border last week 😢. Distances are all in km up there!

So thrilled to see this new adventure! Can't believe you were so close to a bear and it (or something) nibbled your trekking poles!! Would love to know why you go stoveless.

Gorgeous views, but you pay a step price to reach them on those trails, especially at those elevations. Too bad about the pole handles, they were probably a salt source for some happy rodent. Goats grabbed a friend's boot once, wasn't a happy fella on the trail out of camp 🤣😂.

Oh, Wendy wondered why the distances were so short until I pointed out the elevation base and changes. We're used to seeing you cover the same number in miles each day.

I have the Zpacks duplex xl and I put my poles the other way around so that doesn't happen; grip side up. Works good. Try it if you haven't already.

Sadly they don’t fit the other way with my tent :(

Nice to have long summer days. Do you think that snow is what remains of a glacier?
