Hey guys! Like this comment if you would like to see a seperate channel dedicated to Vlogs, gym training, and general life outside the shop! Thanks, Dan.
everybody talks about car or house but hey, this guy has super productive life balanced between hard work, fun and "me time". Respect to the culture that teaches you the basics for that.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone so happy and content with their life and craft. You make it look so easy. True master craftsman. I wish I was like that.
@@OspreyEye it doesn't matter what one says or does, mental-emotional states are transparent. I watch his channel because his energetic resonance is high. People can try to fake the energy but it's really easy to see through.
I had not expected a small town cobbler to do so well, with such a nice car and such a beautiful house. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling you bougie, or think you’re being a show-off. Cobbler is about as honest a job as it gets. You must have worked very hard to get where you are, good for you!
Thank you very much, 2 things to consider is that although we are a small town, the shop is a very busy very well know cobblers. As for the car 10 years of saving and selling and trading up cars year to year is the answer 👌
Called being money smart trade in and trade up... Dan works hard, somethings u need to feeling it and see it that means a nice car and have few nice things do it. Everyone has different finanical commitments. Start small aim big or Rob a bank lol 👏 x
Also clearly works his bollocks off and is good at his job. Be interesting to know how many cobblers get entrusted 1.5k shoes regularly. Big ups Dan, well-done fella.
Top response from pixie vix well said lass you sound like the sort of girl who appreciates hard work and a good person with good morals :) keep up the good work dan cracking job
He can keep plants and a cat alive he's a keeper! He he. No really seems like he's got it all figured out. Of course he just shows us this highlight reel of his life but he seems put together and genuine. May he continue to find joy and gainful employment in what he does because it seems he does it very well.
Hi Dan, I was a shoe repairer from 1986 to 2001 working at Mister Minit throughout. Watching yourself at work brings back the great memories & enjoyment of my career. I really did enjoy the challenges & satisfaction that you video now that I did back then. Keep up the good work & look forward to seeing your videos.
I have always been amazed by someone who expresses such artistic ability such as you. I am a retired antique clock repairman, like cobblers, old professions are slowly becoming few and far between as we say here in Michigan. We love your vlogs and your super personality, thank you
Handsome, stylish, talented, creative, good taste in decoration and furniture, funny, and great personality. I was talking about Beefy, but Dan is right up there too!
I am a red-white-n-blue bleeding American that has been building American muscle cars with my father since i was 5; 35 now, and i just gotta say i love the joy you find in your craft. I try to muster that in people i interact with. People here in America are often left speechless when i always tell them i will show them how to work on their own cars (usually a mechanic will be known to try and take you through the ringers for your wallet and your first born). It's just a great show of heart for people to express love for their craft and pass on your knowledge of your trade to others. Please keep this up, you're a lighthouse in a dark grim world! New subscriber and i'll be trying my own boot repairs once i feel i've got enough of your jedi teachings under my belt.
What a Genuine person. Enjoy seeing people doing there passion and working hard with a smile on there dial. So good to see good workmanship with one using there hands. Would be interesting to hear your story some time must of taken you years to learn your trade. Your a good oak boet.
Man, a video like this will be what truly helps someone realize their own dreams and aspirations, because it's exactly as advertised... it's real! Your enthusiasm for life is obvious, your smile is infectious, and your attitude is undaunted!! I'm sure it can be hard to wear a smile though the hardest of the work, but I can genuinely say I've never wished success for someone more than you... you are truly deserving of admiration!!!
Watching this made me think, "gosh all of this looks familiar..." looked up Tring and then realized how close it is to Beaconsfield, where I lived for a while in England!! I'm home in Canada now, 🇨🇦 but this sure made me miss the UK. Can't wait to travel back!
Loved the show today. Love seeing you repair shoes but also love seeing the landscape of where you live and enjoy life. Thanks for sharing. You do a great job with your channel.
I admire people who are passionate and excellent with their work. Whether it's a chef, artist, or shoe repair, there's a deep appreciation and journey of one's craft that only the disciples of the craft understand.
You're an absolute inspiration. I've shopped a ton of "cobblers" in my area, and none of the old goats can do more than half-sole repairs. I don't trust them with any of my dress shoes, a collection I'm quite proud of. Your dedication to pretty much everything you touch throughout your day is awesome to see. You honor the craft put into shoes by matching, and often times improving, the original work. I am absolutely in awe of people such as yourself who fight against the disposable society we seem to have found ourselves in. Add to that the care you put into your own lifestyle, you are an absolute role model for people who want to make sense of this world and find purpose, happiness and health, the wealth comes along with mastery. Crack on, keep up the good work. Also, if you take the time to respond to this, I'd love to hear some of your top picks for men's dress shoes. I've got a pretty high-end taste, so feel free to go with your grails, the shoes you're most impressed by.
Dude the video is crazyyy , I am from Brazil and I been following you for 6 months already .u benn doing an exelente job , and your work is fucking art my friend . just sendind some love from overseas 😁🔥🔥🔥✊
I don’t know why or how Dan’s videos popped up on my feed, but I’m glad they did! I find it so fascinating to watch, and Dan you are a true master craftsman and such a genuine, lovely person. I could watch for hours and look forward to each new post
Loved that immensely!!! I always love seeing what other people’s lives in other countries consists of. Your life is full and quite interesting. Thank you so much for sharing it. Can’t wait for the next video. Cheers from California USA.
Im seriously so confused at times.. so you're a giant young ripped dude that is a cobbler and that actually likes 80's music and plays old videogames and has the most quirky humor... Like finding a unicorn for some reason :P
I'd say that sounds like quality traits for a husband. I use to see cobblers around, not anymore 😢. I have several pairs of boots I have wore the bottom out. Next pair will be coming to you. How posh is that. Me: Oh no my dear. I send my repairs to my personal cobbler in Britian (nuff, niff)
I gotta confess my love for this man already, what a guy! Such a perfectly balanced life and he looks so happy. Nothing but respect my man, you have got it down to the t!
USA.here.....very interesting , it’s amazing how much equipment is needed for your business ! I can see the time and space that’s saved by multiple heads on most of your machines ! Here there isn’t many cobblers left , you know the American way , use it wear it out, and toss it ! I enjoy all your vids especially the military boots .I served here 68 / 72. , but never saw parade boots like yours . Thanks again , I’ll be watching for more !
not sure how your videos found me, but there a calming departure from lots of "noise" out there. From one deep thinker to another, thanks for the day in the life. hope you're well, Dan.
Back in the day, when I was just a kid I remember a guy who would come by from time to time and for a fee would sharpen all the cutting tools in the back yard. Those were the days!
We had the same thing on the estate - a chap used to come in a flat bed van with a grinder on it and all the women took their knives out to be sharpened. Simple, good times.
This guy just vibes the kind of guy that one could easily befriend and enjoy conversation with especially being so young still... I mean this in a sincere way.. you get to an age (I'm 52 now) and it's just hard to find people you want to spend time talking to and who have the kind of energy that brings you up... I can see us being friends if I lived in his town in the UK..
Thank you for the good video Dan, been watching you for about a month and probably got through all your videos now. Your work is of great quality and keep the videos coming 🙂
I would watch you just sitting there. Seriously, no activity required. I.e. "Cobbler sits here", "Cobbler sits there", "Cobbler watches paint dry". If you're the aforementioned cobbler, I'm watching
Great to see your day from start to finish! I whistle the Robin Hood tune all the time too - rewatched it the other day for the first time in years - still a classic :)
The real question is why did truffles get removed from celebration boxes and replaced with....twix. I still get mad thinking about it all these years later. Anyway love the channel, keep up the great work.
Really cool to see how the cheaper repairs pan out, at the end of the day it's what I'd be more likely to bring in so nice to learn how things are done well.
Absolutely love the breakfast combo, but love the unicorn Jag. Absolute legend. I also agree that toys in cereal needs to be returned like the former days.
Thanx Dan, Tring is such a charming town, so glad you fit the gym in with your work- that’s awesome! You show us that being a cobbler can always be a good profession if done well, 🥰
Thank you Brian I appreciate that, however I feel you two are comparing my work inaccurately, cutting keys and mending shoes is a very loose term for what I do, quality cobbling is a rare skill nowadays, and the knowledge to do all types of keys including car keys is quite extensive 👌
@@Dan_the_cobbler they shouldnt be comparin the two, if they dont like it they could move to a better country if they feel they deserve more, and jaguars arent expensive here as majorty work hard
Always a pleasure to watch you work Dan. I have to say, watching you lift that heavy weight in the gym almost brought tears to my eyes. I thought it was bad enough when I used to do Body Pump. As always best wishes from Bonny Scotland
Wow so much to comment about but first thing, thank you for sharing the private aspect of your life with us. I love fragrances especially the Tom Ford line and I myself have gone back into the gym after covid (lost my gains😂). Mad respect with the amount of work you do running a shop, gym time and making & editing videos. Love the video Dan!👌
Loving the worms game playing hahaha. At least it wasn't a banana bomb or something! Really great channel and nice to see all the other bits of the day :)
Hi Dan, thanks for a really interesting video, a day in the life. I have walked around Tring before - thanks Google Maps, but it is always interesting to see how others live. Cheers mate from Australia.
13:25 I have to be honest. I don’t think I could resist smelling the inside of every shoe I was working on. The harder I try to think about not doing it, the more likely I’ll give into the urge.
Brother !! I’m so glad I came across your store. I’ll be sending my shoes from Canada. I’ve always worried about who to use. My guy is a wizard but he has a tiny store with zero tools.
I have just started watching your videos and I have to say I definitely enjoy them. Congrats on your success. Good things come to those who are willing to put in the hours and treat people well.
Love the videos Dan :) been a cobbler and Bespoke shoe maker for 40 years now and I never get tired of learning new techniques from others in the industry . Love your shop layout and whilst I live here in Australia, I hope one day to board a plane and venture to your part of the world and hopefully get you meet you in person. 😀
INSTA-CLICK! INSTA-LIKE! I’m happy to see a new video. Loved it! The brick design of your shop’s street is amazing! Outside of the shop vlogs would be AWESOME!
Interesting, I enjoy watching craftsmen especially those who love their work, you make it look so easy. I worked in a shoe factory when I left school I remember those push button sole heaters 🤪
I absolutely loved today's video. I thought during the breakfast scene you were going to have your coffee in one of your mugs. Nothing wrong with promoting the merch. ; ) BTW now we need a day in the life of Ron video.
I think everyone in the comments have said everything but the only thing I would definitely add is that there is nothing more beautiful and attractive on a person seeing how respectfully you treat others. Like my grandma used to say “You’re only as beautiful as the way you treat people”
