These repairs look great. Instead of completely removing the eyelets in the Ralph Lauren shoes, you could have used a gun oxidizing agent on either on both sides it's should turn them pretty damn black, and you wouldn't need to have risked damaging the leather by removing them. It's what the shoe shop I worked at did for requests like that.
What I enjoy the most about these "small" jobs is seeing how much can be repaired and refreshed instead of discarded and replaced. Dan is one of the most valuable assets for the future. One who knows how to repair, because this consume and discard lifestyle so many live is unsustainable.
Hi David, I charge a similar price to other cobblers around the uk who offer premium work, however try to offer more Tring friendly prices for the regular town folk and the simple repairs 🙏
@@Dan_the_cobbler Thank you so much for answering! I watch your videos whilst living in Germany and forwarded one to my father in Michigan who was very very impressed with you. Cheers
I for one, could watch a multi repair vid of 45 minutes, Love the format and content, love the humour. And still no Coffee???? Well done Dan, another great video.
Between all the varied repairs as well as filming (so many different set ups) and editing everything himself he must not have much downtime. The best part is you can tell he really loves his job and I love his silly sense of humour. What a lovely gent. He is to be protected at all costs.
Watching all these videos there is one thing that stands out and i think everyone will agree with me and no its not how good looking he is haha even though that is very true! but its how much of a nice decent person Dan is :) i am so happy his channel is doing so well.
This man is literally the most based Chad I’ve ever seen. He loves what he’s doing so much that he Dressed up like captain America and records himself fixing various items.
Wow, well impressed at how you eyeballed the hobnails, great job 👍 and the Ralph Lauren definitely looked better with black eyelets....you got me at trim her bush!! 😂😜🤣
@Alfreds Pariah NO WAY....oh my word, absolutely not what I was saying, 😳😳 all it meant was the cheeky comment made me laugh!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 (need to be careful with my comments!) 🤦♀️🤐
do 1 video with no edits, basically a livestream of your shop from opening to closing and if it doesnt get more views than these edited ones then u can chose to never do it again. it would be nice to have a glimpse of the eu from over here in the usa
So with the Ralph Lauren Loafers I feel like customers are now coming up with the hardest stuff they can and seeing if you can do it ... and of course, you deliver, every time :)))
I’m just being honest here but I don’t think he did a very clean job finishing the stitching on those loafers. If they were mine I honestly wouldn’t be happy. Not to mention he added glue to the “perfect” designer loafer where there was no glue originally and it’s crooked.
I’ve been taking the time to REALLY take a closer look at this guy from his hair down to his feet, and I’ve got to say THIS DUDE IS ONE HANDSOME MAN. Not that he’s not pursuing an honorable profession, but it seems so odd that such an outstandingly handsome obviously talented camera friendly personality would be stuck off in a small shoe and key-making shop. At the very minimum he should be a TV news or weather guy or something. Not only is he definitely “eye candy,” he has this very outstanding personality.
I've found from experience that this method has to constantly be redone as the ink obviously doesn't soak into the metal and gets worn off quite easily.
Dan your videos are great, wether full length job specific or like this one. I‘ve always been intrigued by cobblers and handmade repairs. 17yrs in the biz and it shows! Heck of tradesman you are. Thanks for all your uploads.
I’m so glad you finally had driving loafers on the channel. I wear them exclusively and always wondered how they could be repaired. We love your videos!!
Thank you very much Dan for this video! It’s always a pleasure to follow your high-quality artisanal work! You must be a descendant of the sons of Thor with your hammer always moving!!!🥰✌🍾🍻🌠🎈⚒💪💫
I met FLEXOFIL at Muscle Beach 3 summers ago . He usually works out at Gold’s in Venice with all of the celebrity juice heads . I heard he moved back to Australia because of stricter immigration laws . Thanks trump .
Hobnails? These shoes were obviously well used. Why, where, and when are hobnails used in life these days? Google says they were used in the past by military officers etc. but are not recommended because they have poor traction on many surfaces. Also, thanks for another great video.
(sorry) this is the rest of my reply.,I'm not sure if I should have allowed her to see any of your videos. Just a word of caution to others. Blessings from New Orleans.
Sadly those loafers did not come out good at all. Stitching was all over the place, not straight as before the job. And not sure why so much glue was added. Seems the laces will be stuck there. I’d love to know the reaction of the owner.
Samuel Windsor shoes, I bought one pair, threw them in the bin after a week, complete rubbish, cheap leather and the nails from the heal stuck in my feet.
This was one of the most enjoyable videos I’ve seen on your channel. It’s cool to see the everyday life of a skilled craftsman. I hope you do more of these types of videos.
