I’d say that it does. But the workload in Semester 2 of first year is quite high compared to Semester 1. So, if you’re thinking of doing a compsci degree at Loughborough you can expect quite a substantial workload but it is manageable.
Well, Loughborough has a very balanced degree. To me there is a balance amount of Maths/logic, programming, and theory. You also get quite a lot of freedom to explore the whole field of computer science when doing your final year project.
@@mistamontero Hey man, I've just got an unconditional offer in MSc data science at Loughborough. But, I'm quite nervous because I have no programming background for my undergraduate course (business and management). So, I would like to know more about the modules and assessments. Perhaps, I might be similar to your course
@@thasorn6347 Congrats on the offer! That's amazing. I'm uploading a video today reviewing my computer science course. I talk about how these courses assume you don't know anything about the field when you start. So, you will be ok! By the time you do any assessment, they will have taught you everything you need to know.
At the time, it honestly varied a lot. Usually when I would work on my final year project, it would be long. I can’t really give a number to it to be honest. Just be prepared to work like at least 4-5 hours a day. Sometimes it might be less and sometimes it may be more.
Hello... what languages are covered at loughborough? also, I do mathematics, physics and computer science but I've never done discrete mathematics before... did you find the course too mathy or was it alright? Thanks
The languages that I’ve done at Loughborough have been Java, Python, Haskell, JavaScript, HTML, C, and SwiftUI (but this was optional for my final year project). The course is not too “mathy”
