I have just finished an Access to HE Computing at Bradford with distinction at the age of 49. I also just sent my UCAS app yesterday. I plan on doing an IT degree should I find a suitable Uni.

That’s awesome! I would say make sure you stay organised with your time, stay organised with all of your computer files, and start working on assignments as early as possible.

It really depends on the university you apply to. You should check the specific subject requirements for the universities you are interested in.

nope I did a computing level 3 in college and I have accepted my offer for uni of Brighton. So you can still get in, however I was always good at maths and sciences.

Yes, you can still do it. They teach you the programming content that you need to know.

just graduated CS i wouldnt reccomend you probably wouldnt like it, just learn code and do some personal projects first see if ou axtually like oit ebfore investing time and money into a degree - cos its shit if u relaise u hate it hafl way thru, computing is not a silver bullet

You may need to do a foundation course but best to check the subject requirements for the universities you are interested in.

Is math hard in CS? I am bad at math and not sure if I should do CS

The maths module that I did in my first year was quite hard I would say. It reminded me of Maths A-level, but after that, I didn’t choose anymore (pure) maths modules. If you’re worried about math, then I’d say check the course specifications of the universities that you’re interested in and see how much math there will be.

I can agree with this, I just finished 1st year CS at loughborough uni and the maths module was a lot of recap of a level maths along with further maths and obvs there was some completely new stuff. The logic module was discrete maths I think all new stuff to me, was quite difficult

Thanks, i regret dropping out from my uni last 2016 and now CS Graduates are so High In-demand . So, i am planning to continue my BS-CS next year in 2023 , will it be still in-demand in the future??

yeh speaking as someone who just graduated from CS, dont do it f you dont like it - maths is a good general degree but is very hard, u could look into apprentship degree schemes i would say - depends of ur country but if u uk or us and have to pay for degree or only have one chance nothing wrong with just working for a bit trying to move away from ur family and have more of a think on whatnyou really want to do, id say in life friendships and relations are some of the msot rewarduing thing. system is fucked, give yourself grace, mother often DOES NOT know best

i meant relationships like romantic, like gf bf, finding my boyfriend has changed my life much mre than any career bullshit cos he makes me happier then i ever been, -- dont just do what family says often they dont have a clue, you the ne who has to tolerate it, dont do it if u hate iut or not sure about it probs
