@kakiexo1423 6 лет назад
Lul M8 I can stand with you on that but culturally forced or not. No one going to the hospital in pain or concerned deserves to be treated like crap. It shouldn't matter if a family member died or not. Work is work & anything outside of that leave it at home. I'm paying them so you work for me. Doesn't always go for Dr or nurses in my opinion.
@avengersana
@avengersana 6 лет назад
kakiexo14 you pay them so they work for you?? Really? This is not some burger flipping job at McDonald's. There's lots of stress involved. Maybe your shitty attitude is the reason doctors treat you like crap!

This was awesome to watch! Your personality is so vibrant and wonderful. I am so very happy that you had a good night and got those 4 hours of precious sleep. When my baby was born, I was amazed by the resident doctor who was so bubbly and bright yet was also doing an overnight... "how does she focus?" I wondered. Now that I am a mom and have experienced how glorious 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep can be, I can understand a bit more... I also feel less alone, knowing that there are other people who have had crazy sleep schedules while the rest of the world seems to go on as normal. I give you so much credit for the job you do, and the way you do it with a SMILE. You seem like a truly beautiful person, inside and out. Your patients are lucky to have you. God bless!

The thing is, I know it's not. Which is exactly why I'm in the educational field and not the medical field. I clicked on this video because it gave me a look into a lifestyle or profession that I'm not going to see otherwise. But anyone can understand that the 10 minutes she showed in this vlog do not accurately represent EVERY aspect of being an on-call medical resident. The good and the bad. The beautiful and the ugly. It's cool to get a look inside to her profession, but even if it WAS easy and glamorous, I'm going to stick to being a teacher. (:

Alexa Gibson hi, I'm currently applying to study education. Just asking on your thoughts of it
@alexagisme
@alexagisme 6 лет назад
Hey Rachel! Being an education major, at least where I go to college, the classes aren't too hard. You know, the whole brain development, education laws, disabilities kind of stuff. In my experience, wherever you to college at, they will try to get you out to classrooms as soon as possible. Where I go, they had us out observing freshman year. This is because you never really know if teaching is your thing until you are actually out in the field. The earlier they get you out, the earlier you make your decision on whether or not you enjoy it. Come junior year, your observing/teaching full day. Come senior year, your observing/teaching a couple times a week. Depending on where you live, your state may require exams all education majors have to pass. These can be really stressful and can get really expensive, but it will all be worth it in the end. (: I really like it! I mean, I'm super introverted so I have to push myself to be more vocal and disciplinary in the classroom, but that will come in due time. Good luck!

I was about to start my fourth year of college to become a elementary schoolteacher and I just couldn’t quit my day job so I stopped going to school. I started college in my late twenties and had a kid, a mortgage, ect. so when it came down to having to be in the classroom interning five days a week, I just couldn’t do it financially. It’s been years but now that my husband makes pretty good money I can finally go back to school

You are such a good doctor. I haven’t met a nice doctor before honestly. Well I have, but not someone as nice and kind hearted as you.

As a VA Volunteer, I am on-call when a patient (veteran) passes away. Day or night, I will come into the VA Hospital and escort the flag covered veteran to the morgue. (the No Veteran Dies Alone program) I also help out in our extended care unit, rehab, Spinal Cord Injury, and from time-to-time in the intensive care unit. I am retired from the Army and am a disabled veteran. But not too disabled to help. Oh and BTW, I am 65-years-old.
