The angiogram, the Transesophageal echocardiogram, the nicotine patches, the possible cancer from streptococcus bovis bacteremia. I love how much you guys know and teach. It must be wonderful to share a life together. I could only imagine the days where you discuss a complex case together as you decipher it. Also the steps that your husband did to figure out the mesenteric pain were awesome to follow through.

I really like this style of a week in the life, where each of you focus on one patient and delve deep into each step of the diagnostic process. Two things I would really love to see added to something like this would be a debrief after each day where you two talk together (with anonymity of course) about the patient you are focusing on, and get each other's perspective on what the other is seeing. The other thing I'd love to see is a follow up later on (if you could) just checking that patient's records to share the conclusion of their story (how the treatment worked out or what new developments there were). Great video as always!

Right. I used to listen to them from high school. Almost just for the fun while trying to understand, but not really understanding much or forgetting it quickly since its not a typical thing that you learn or see at high school. So, now that I am almost done with my medical lab sciences bachelors, I feel like I understand everything and I am capable of retaining most of the information they discuss in their videos. I wonder if I should go back to the older videos to learn from them, or if that would be a waste since they clearly know their stuff more now then they did a few years ago. And medicine would have slightly shifted in procedures from a few years ago to now, so there might be some medical wrongs done too.

I wish there wasn't such a doctor shortage, but seeing that folks like you are stepping up to help bridge the gaps makes me very thankful. Northern Ontario is such a beautiful place to live and work. As an RN, it is so interesting to see the thought process and day to day work that goes into a patient. For example, an RN will get a consent for a TEE, make sure the patient is NPO, holding certain medications, explaining/updating the family, giving report to the RNs that pick up the patient for the TEE, passing off handoff report at the end of the day about everything you are doing. Its just really interesting to see it from the MD side.

I LOVE these videos so much! As a VIP patient whose been in and out of the hospital for the last 15 years I love seeing the other side of the process! I love how your channel has evolved into doing this style with Mark included! Any and all day/week in the life videos are MORE than welcome! I've had a SCI for the last 15 years, multiple rounds of MRSA, sepsis, septic shock, kidney infections, kidney stone, etc so the hospital has unfortunately become my home away from home. Fortunately though, things have been going VERY well lately and I've been stable with everything for the last year or so! I am on the brink of a major surgery coming up to either have a bladder augmentation or an Indiana pouch put in because of my SCI and having a subra pubic tube for the last 15 years though. We're REALLY hoping that we'll be able to hold off on the surgery until the first of the year so I can just enjoy the rest of this year and do a bunch of fun things before I'm laid up for several months recovering and getting used to this new phase of my SCI recovery I'm about to embark on. My SCI happened due to an ingrown hair that got infected and was MRSA but it wasn't treated properly, so the virus went into my blood and started growing on my spinal cord which then ended up causing rapid paralysis in my right leg so I needed emergency surgery to get the infection off of my spinal cord, which ended up leaving me paralyzed from T-5 down. Luckily I am now T-5, Asia D, incomplete and have regained a lot of movement, sensation and some strength back but will still be wheelchair bound for the rest of my life. I was 23 when my SCI happened and had to relearn absolutely everything. Now, I'm 100% independent! I can take care of myself in and out of the home, I drive, and live a pretty amazing life! I love seeing how you and Mark go through the process of elimination for each patient trying to figure out the right diagnosis and treatment for each and every one of your patients. The medical world is a better place because of AMAZING doctors like you!!!!
