As a long time sports fan, I grew surrounded by college and professional sports, played competitive soccer for much of my life, and saw many of my friends go to college on sports scholarships. In many ways, it has been a small dream of mine to marry the world of sports with my career in medicine. The UCLA BrainSPORT Sports Neurology fellowship seeks to do exactly that by training neurologists specifically trained to handle traumatic brain injuries, concussion rehab, CTE, and performance enhancement. In the heart of Los Angeles, this program allows members to conduct state of the art research with virtual reality and some of the world's best athletes. Big shout out to Dr. Rafie for showcasing a day in the life of a Sports Neurologist and for your hospitality during my short time in Los Angeles!
Check out the UCLA BrainSPORT podcast for discussions with field experts on traumatic brain injury, concussion rehab, CTE, and much more: • The Effect of Adverse ...

“I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭9‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ God has been, and is, and always will be, so good to us y’all. Today, remember all of the blessings God has given us and how good our God is, and thank God for who He is and what He has done and is doing and will do. God is good not only today but always. He’s got you. Praise God today and everyday. God loves you so much. If you don’t know Jesus today, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2 that today is the day of salvation. Come home to Jesus. It’s the best decision you can ever make.

God is great, but this was a bit off-topic? Medicine is a great way to serve the lord (or just help improve lives from a secular worldview) but I’m not sure the connection

I love watching football, but I would never let me kids play a sports that damages their brains.

I respect what you’re saying and you have valid points, but that goes with every sport you can loose an eye in table tennis, break a leg in basketball, get your finger cut off in hockey, and concussions in soccer everything has risk

@@bluethunder9102 good point but at the same time, football has a MUCH higher risk than any of the sports you mentioned.

@@mustafajanjua7313 That is true I just love football, and as somebody who played for 5 years without a single injury (running back 2) it isn’t the death trap some people make it out to be ya know.

Your kid can get hurt walking down the street. A car could hit em or get shot. Let them choose their life paths because when it’s all said and done you won’t be living for them. They will be stuck living with regrets you caused while you’ll be sleeping peacefully acting like nothing ever happened.

It’s pretty cool that he’s exceptionally successful despite coming from the Caribbean. There’s so much doom and gloom in the premed world it’s nice to see you can be at the top of your game no matter where you go

I was quite impressed at how exceptionally sharp he seemed despite coming from a less competitive med school.
