I’m just glad to see someone actually showing what they do at work, not a video full of unnecessary stuff like makeup or what your eating for breakfast and this and that.
taking my nclex in 2 weeks. Pray for me :) I have a job already and im so eager to get into the field i worked so hard for. Also, thank you for allowing me to see your day as a nurse. You're influencing a lot whether you see the credit or not.
I really love how you go right to the point of what we need to know, I loved the vid you really showed what you do not like other vids that just shows their coffee, bottle, scrubs, and snack 🤦 I will appreciate you keep talking about how to resolve some situations that it may come up in the shifts... Thank you so much!! New sub here 😘
Thank you for supporting. I definitely think it’s a great career. It’s not easy, but if you’ve already decided to do it, then I’m sure you’ve got what it takes.
Got yourself a new subbie! Enjoyed the video. I am also a LPN working LTC in Ohio (7 years) & enjoy watching others in my same field of work. Great video!
Like the saying goes don't be too good at something because their gonna burn u out because they expect u to do everything. I've experienced this before.
Thank you I’m thinking of going back to school for LPN. I have my masters degree over 4 -5 years now. & the thought of going back to school is so intimidating. This video helped me to know- if you can do it - I can too! Thank youuuuu! 💙💙
I know it’s intimidating, but I say do it. The pay is decent. And the job stability is 💯. If you can just go straight for RN since you already have a degree and will be opted out of many pre reqs. You might have to re do your science courses, but the rn process will be basically equal to the time of being an Lpn since you have a previous degree. You can definitely do it!!
@@rachela23 thank you! You know what I will go for my RN. Thank you for that encouragement! Your video is so informative & very practical. Thank youuuuu honeybun! :) 💙
You have such a relaxing voice. You truly need to mark this vid with tag that says "Unintentional ASMR" and maybe do other vids showing nursing supplies etc. Other than the beeping & random loud songs, this was the most relaxing nursing lesson I've ever had 😂🤍
the Nursing skills and excellence of the profession are good but like in any industry, there are downsides as well as thing's that aren't fun. meantime it's a great career and it's an amazing profession in taking care of sick people who are fighting to get well enough to return to their daily lives. you seem like you do a great job I am glad for you so keep after it. and thanks for these videos. I look forward to my First day of Nursing school but also I look forward to the First day of work as a Nurse employed at a hospital or facility.
god i rarely see males in these comments hyping you up . but i will im applying to the mohawk college rpn program im so eager to get in and start this journey . thank you for the great job at showing us how your day goes .
8:16 FELT...when you said reality kick in!! That's why I started doin corrections! Yes, they be cray, but it's like a few hrs with them and you good..pay is amazing!!! I dang near was burned out working at the rehab hosp/facility 😣!!
They do take advantage of your kindness That’s every where that why it’s best if you work in the hospital or clinic they don’t play that crap you get whoever is available
Excellent, thanks for sharing this this is cool stuff. Good job on your confidence in your duties as a Nurse. Your doing good 😷 I look forward to finishing my LVN school and getting hired...
Do you have that tips video?? I’d love to hear it! I’m pretty nervous into going in LPN, I’ll be immediately hired into my agency but I know it might be extremely hard! I love your videos because it gives me an idea on what I should expect & how the routines will go! Please keep posting!
I just want to say thank you and I appreciate all the work you do. I don't know you and I have no idea where you are at but thank you. Stay safe and healthy 🙏❤️. Great video🙂
Nursing home is stress for real 😧 I did morning shift as a new grad working for agency, I make money but I didn’t have any experience so it was hard for my first few days, I was so slow
I have a few questions when you have time. Is it odd to see male LPNs? I'm almost 40 and need to get out of unappreciated, sweaty factories and into something where I'm helping. And is midnight shift easier to get hired onto? I've always been a 2nd 3rd shift person so the hours don't bother me. Thanks and I look forward to learning more before I go back to school for the spring semester.
It’s isn’t odd at all. There are many male nurses (Lpn & RNs) so don’t let your gender deter you from entering this field. Midnight shifts for me are personally the best. I don’t do it often because I don’t want to mess up my sleeping pattern, but midnights are much calmer because patients are sleeping. Good luck on your journey
Go for it! As she said, don't let your gender deter you. I was in school for RN, left....now years later considering it again or LPN. There were at least 5 guys in every one of my classes & many more in hospitals when I did clinicals. It's NOT easy, please be sure you truly are ready to learn in depth A&P and medications as people's life will be in your hands. Maybe even shadow at your local hospital & clinic. Best of luck to you
I appreciate this video because I graduate in December & im trying to see if LTC is a manageable option because I’m afraid of the nurse patient ratio as a new grad.
It’s definitely going to be scary at first because school doesn’t prepare you for the reality of the field. Eventually you will get the hang of it. Hopefully there are some future laws set into place for staffing 🤞
To me it looks like the rules of staffing ratios in California are for hospitals. I’m an LVN student in California, and in the nursing homes I’ve gone to for clinical, they’re pretty understaffed, I’ve seen LVNs having to pass meds for 30-40 residents each
I took the nclex right before I started working so I did have some knowledge from that, but I didn’t do any additional studying. I just went in and did my best. It was very nerve wreaking at first but I managed.
Yes I do. It’s a stable consistent income. $65,000 a yr without overtime & great benefits ( this is for a staff job; agency will of course be way more). May not sound like much but there are ppl with masters degrees not making that.
Are you a introvert? I’m not really the talking type…I tend to fumble over my own words😭😭that’s something I’m really scared of doing when I first start. I just applied for school😩
I’m not necessarily an introvert, but when I was younger I was very shy. With aging I got more assertive. I’m still quiet, but not because I’m nervous or scared, but because that’s How I prefer to be. As you interact with more patients and you gain confidence in your role, you won’t be afraid. Don’t let fear keep you from following through because what scares you today might not tomorrow.
It’s still really hard for me, but I would just say discipline and daily vitamins. It’s easy to sleep away every second you have off, but you just have to try not to. I’m still trying to get the balance right & ny cold weather isn’t helping
Am a nurse as well new graduate so that's why I ask.... having a support system really helps some whom always got you're bk. For example you're at work n you're going through a hard day u can text that person n they comfort u....
