Yup, Europe are playing strong as a team and appear dominant and relentless. USA on the other hand look like a hastily thrown together pub team - absolutely lost out there, missing balls, out of position, playing too defensively etc. Gorst is trying but even he's playing poorly. All the rest need a kick up the arse, as they're ruining the competition IMO - the Mosconi Cup hasn't got that competitive edge and fire again this year. I'm hoping that USA perform much better on day 3 so we can get some tension and excitement going into the final day.

Its not the nerves, its the mindset that's along side the nerves. Nerves are good when you can remain confident and fierce.

Yeah this is hard to watch. Personally I love SVB but I’m so disappointed in his play over the last couple years. Especially in the Mosconi cup. Sad that he’s one of the best USA has to offer. I’m glad we got Fedor but he must have felt like he was playing against EU and SVB. Funny how often in pool it’s the person or team that doesn’t need it that gets some lucky rolls. Who is that 17-year-old that almost beat SVB last year? The one who accidentally hit the five before the four because he wasn’t familiar with the colors. We should get him on the Mosconi team. I mean we might as well give him the experience. Not saying instead of SVB, but maybe the new guy. I mean at this point the only one on our team that should definitely be there next year is Fedor. 😞

Shane has historically not lived up to expectations in the misconduct cup for some reason. I think the alternate break d's him up. He gets his stroke when he can run racks!

I agree. I noticed that too. Losing 6 to nothing completely ended any hopes in them I think.

They are playing pretty bad (especially SVB)... the thing I don't understand, is that it's not like they're playing Juggernauts that can't be beaten. They're playing the same guys they play multiple times a year in major tournaments, and those matches can go either way... but come December, in the cup, they play terrible like they're totally out classed.

@@raymondphillips7762I honestly think it’s the camaraderie. My unprofessional opinion is. SVB doesn’t play well on teams (don’t think I’ve ever seen him perform well in team matches) I feel like someone on the team is always doom and gloom as soon as they miss a ball which really adds pressure. Lastly only 2 of the guys on the team have won a major. Only SVB and Fedor. Sky has gone deep multiple times but never pulled it off (although I think it could happen at any time. He has the skill) styer is still young so he’s got plenty of time to work on his nerves. And idk anything about woolford. I think once Thorpe comes back from his suspension, we’ll have much better spirits (sky and Thorpe duo is disgusting) and it’s one more high energy, happy go lucky player to keep spirits up.

Like, US Open finals, World 8-ball, World 9-ball, and Multiple Mosconi Cups... i agree they don't look loose, but I don't think it's pressure. Not this early in the cup, and not compared to playing for a major championship. Idk what's wrong with them.

@@0351marinemike mosconi cup pressure is different than the big tourney pressure. It’s the pressure of playing for your country instead of for yourself and the pressure of letting your team down.

@Idontpicksides-rj2zf I'm not implying that Philippines can beat all of Asia. My point is that pool is very popular in Asia and Philippines has a great culture of pool in their country. The Hanoi open in Vietnam imo was a success, it brought out big crowds and buzz for the sport. My other point is that we honored Willie Mosconi naming a major challenge cup after him, why not honor Efren Reyes who many consider the Goat. I belive many fans would like to see Asia and Philippines get involved in a Mosconi Cup type event. Maybe I'm wrong. It's just my opinion, but why not give it a try, if it doesn't work out and there is no interest you can always cancel the event

Given that it is apparently allowed, I think the idea was to let one player get in stroke and comfortable with the cloth, etc. and JJ must have seen something in the practice sessions that made him think Fedor was the guy, but I think Skyler has earned that spot and Skyler pulling out two or three wins would have been better for the team than if Fedor had been able to do the same thing.

Tyler wasn't unlucky. He just isn't the player of quality that the USA team needs. Oschun cleaned his clock 5 - 0 !!! No bad luck at all!

It's not about bringing in more talent & more juggernauts... Look at Fedor, arguably the best on the planet right now and we're doing worse than ever - It's about chemistry & the right combination of 5 guys, period.
