It was refreshing to learn that Rob has been able to immerse himself in the mundane- fixing sprinklers, and reconnecting to the rhythms and patterns of family and community life, it was what i had wished for all of the LE team. His congeniality is obviously a part of his personality, it shines through in this interview. Thank you for agreeing to this 'off the cuff' interview, Rob, and Lauren and John for having an approachable and open space for discourse and unpacking. Rob's compassionate regard for Tylee, JJ and Tammy was obvious, for the families i am so very relieved he was your point of contact through the worst chapter of your lives. Again, thank you. 🌻

Rob is right that the way Tammy was talked about by her own children was awful. I think it was despicable…and it has to be stated that they’re adults. They should be held responsible for their actions and what they said should not be dismissed purely because they were Chad’s witnesses. Again, they’re getting let off…nobody is held to their own accountability. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I can't imagine how hard it was for Tammy's family to hear them saying that stuff about their own mother. If I think hard, I can find my mother's faults, but my mother is my hero. No smoking or drinking, no talking bad about others. She loves God with all her heart and taught us how, too, by example. I don't know Tammy, but all of her colleagues at work were unanimous in their praises to her. Very sad.

@@laurenmay2098it really broke my heart as well. I have been struggling with alienation from my own 2 daughters since my divorce 9 years ago, so their words hit me hard. @@Hunterhaunt exactly! They are liars like their dad, and so disrespectful to their sweet Mom, the other adult children that have been silent, probably wouldn't defend their dad, maybe in there hearts they know he really did do all this. Chad will rot in a cell until he dies. So will Lori we can sleep better knowing that.

@Hunterhaunt Tammy's babies are going through so much self identity changes at this time. The two that testified are living their own hell. I'm empathetic and feel supportive in the processes, hoping they can work through the trauma, reuniting with both sides of the family.

@sparkycalico1698 When I was a child, my father kept asking me if my mother hit me. One day, I said yes. I thought he wanted me to say that because he asked every single day. He hitted my mother. I was under 6. I am empathetic towards them, but not for the lying. They are adults and work. They do have friendship with the outside world. So, I hated what they were doing to their mother's image.

I can remember watching a young Rob Wood years ago on a trial on tv and thinking what a good lawyer he was and he’d go far. And this is from the uk. I had no idea years later he would be heading the team up on this trial, one of the saddest (and convoluted) stories of our lifetime that had internationally captured our hearts. I was both surprised to see him again and happy for the victims and families that they’d have such an advocate fighting for them all the way. I know the fight is not over for Vallow as she still has charges to answer regarding Charles and Brandon. But for bringing the monster, Chad….. to his rightful verdict. Truly Well Done, Rob and your team, this is still sent all the way from the uk. X

I think Chad's 'emotion charged blessing' to Alex Cox was a manipulation to make sure Alex kept his mouth shut. He was becoming a liability after Tammy was murdered and there was a possibility he was going to spill the beans on the fate of Tylee and JJ due to regret and remorse.He was already hinting to Mel.Gibb that the kids weren't in a safe place and 'she wouldn't want to know'. In my opinion Chad was bored with his life and craved admiration - especially from women he found attractive. He wanted to be a revered leader/prophet despite being on the edge of atheism.
@karenevans7366

Yes, I believe Chad gave him this blessing as a way to cement his control over Alex. I think if Alex had not passed away, he would definitely be a liability. He didn’t seem like the brightest person and I think he would have cracked had the police leaned on him.

Maybe my favorite of all your discussions. Listened live and shopping at same time, had to listen again giving you full attention. I disagree with the opinion that Chad truly believed in his religion. He was selling, a salesman is sincere and has to buy into the product to be successful, but the intellectual part of the brain actually knows the partial truth. It is easier to accomplish the sale if one ignores doubts, and most of us do have doubts and question whatever religion that we subscribe to. Hearing Rob Wood state he had served our country with military service, thank you, Rob, for your service.

You are amazing Rob. We the people appreciate you on so many levels. Mahalo from Hawaii.... BTW Lori & Chad run off thIs island and sentenced to life in prison was EPIC.

Chad was INSANELY jealous of Heather Daybell. That much was very obvious. Bishop envy encompassed many people, but refused to do any of the work these people did.

This was an absolute inspirational interview. I didn't get to watch it live, but Sunday morning started with a great bang. I can't imagine what Rob went through and all my questions were answered. Thank you Lauren, Dr. John and Rob. I have been following from the beginning and this was the perfect ending. God bless you all for keeping it real ❤🙏

Re: Chad's blessing of Alex Like most of us, Chad plays many roles in his life: kindhearted dad, author (crappy one but...!), pious soothsayer, etc. When he gives the Alex blessing, he's really into his role as a special prophet. But it's just a role, not a belief.

I'm an atheist, but please tell Mr. Wood that the Jewish interpretation of that scripture is that Abram failed the test, he was supposed to refuse to sacrifice his own child.
@BadgeredWitness
@BadgeredWitness Месяц назад
Noooo is that true? I mean. Also an atheist. But raised Mormon like Lauren and Rob. That interpretation makes WAY MORE SENSE and also is disturbing in a different way as in weird manipulative tests involving life and death by God. Like if God was taking the time to speak to me I'd assume he absolutely meant what he said. Lol. Not a topic worth extensive discourse but interesting all the same. I appreciate your input!

@@BadgeredWitnessraised as a southern Baptist (now deconstructing) and it does make more sense. I never did like all the manipulative tests that God would do. If you have unconditional love...why would you do that to your people? I'd never think to do that to my children so it always bothered me why God would do that....being raised that we should be an example of God's love...what kind of love is that?

Thank you Rob for being such a great human being with such great insight and understanding of human behaviour it’s truly remarkable 👏🏻 That said it’s always so amazing to see how much people like Lorie and Chad underestimate the knowledge and understanding of others and that’s what brings them down at the end. It’s like a an overestimate of one selfs greatness and underestimate how others can see right through the bs 🙌🏻 Thank you Dr.John and Loren ❤you are always so respectful and kind ❤

I think Melanie G. put Atty Wood in that awkward situation by being so overly familiar with everyone. She referred to him as “Rob” while on the stand and even a celebrity such as Keith Morrison was simply “Keith” in her texts. That behavior was so cringy to me. Her ego is so big she can’t refer to anyone who might be perceived as more important than her with any kind of deference or respect. She’s just another self-important, delusional piece of work affiliated with these cases. She, like so many of her cohorts, are so consumed by their own inflated senses of self that they never stop to consider how their actions affect others. In her mind, she & “Keith” were going to join forces with the intent to protect the LDS church’s reputation. But first, she needed to make sure “Rob” understood their mission. I’m sure Mr. Morrison had an entirely different understanding of the purpose of that interview. She’s such a bizarre person. Mr. Wood didn’t deserve the scrutiny she brought upon him.

Listening to this and noticed Lauren, that you mentioned how tired Rob Wood was and looked. You probably didn't notice how tired YOU also were and looked (not ugly just tired lol). You look fantastic and rested thank goodness for you and your husband and your genuine compassion and ability to relate everything to your audience.

Soooo close to asking the question I would've liked to have heard asked! I've never believed in a consspiratorial cover-up at all but as a prosecutor VERY familiar with this case and considering the enormous amount of time spent by HTC on the LDS-endorsed book "Visions of Glory," I wanted to know if Atty Wood believed the church was complicit or responsible in ANY way.
