Part 1: goo.gl/zxL1Dn
---------------
In this clip, Daylyt weighed in on Gucci Mane's comment about Eminem not being the king of rap. Daylyt seems to agree with the take and explained how Eminem is respected for his wordplay but is lacking in terms of content. Daylyt says Em's best album was Revival which ironically got poor reviews despite Eminem trying to "say something."Later, Daylyt explains why he believes hip-hop culture isn't truly Black culture.

I get what he saying but at the same time we've been the trendsetters that everyone wants to dress like. We may not own the brands but we made them popular. Think about the brands that have tanked after we stopped wearing it. Think about the brands that we turned around just by us wearing it. Think about Champion and Fila, we literally breathed breath back into those dying brands and now their streetwear essentials.

It's really not deep though. It just sounds deep. Italian culinary culture is full of stuff that was not invented in Italy but introduced by the moors. The list goes on. Doesnt make Pasta any less Italian. Flamenco is Spanish Gypsy music but they didnt invent the guitar did they? Push Black ownership by all means but what he's sayiing if you apply it to other things doesnt really stand up at all. And he referred to African clothing as "our culture". But it's only a small part of your culture, your genetics. Really Black Americans are Americans first. I hope one day you can reconcile the two cultures. It's not easy.

that ain't shit compared to what black people went through!! black people can relate to what their community is going through for hundred of years, not about personal struggle!! problems exist in every family. Hip HOP is a cultural movement, was a political movement, that's why the old heads of hip hop can't relate to em. his subjects are no different from the ones of country music, metal... Hip HOP is About Black lives whether you like it or not. Before Eminem, white people want no part of hip hop and now you act like it was a universal art? GTFOH

@swats6787 5 лет назад
@@amanSpawn00 actually I know way more about the subject than you think. like the fact that the black man in America isn't African and that's not our culture either. You just like Day believe your enemy. The Africans know that we're not the same that's why to this very day they don't claim us. We claim them only bkuz our enemies who has gone through extreme lengths to keep us ignorant of who we truly are told us that we're African. They know knowledge is power especially knowledge of self. If you ever go to Africa it's not written or documented nor taught that their ancestors were taken by force into slavery brought to the America's and sold into bondage. That's because the blacks that was brought over here weren't African they were Hebrews who subsequently were already in bondage to the Africans aka Canaanites and sold to the European. So Daylite don't have a clue. As for the English language that also came from black people the fathers of civilization. The 1st rulers of England were black just do your history but like everything else they white washed that history to just like they teach that they DISCOVERED America.

Alright so let me address those who say that eminem has no content: 1- Every artist sporadically in their careers has talked nonsense (lean, drugs, just rhyming, pimps and so forth) Including all members of N.W.A, Mobb Deep, Jay-z and mostly the new generation. Still doesn't discredit those talented ones. 2- it's subject to interpretation what content people wanna fuck with or relate to. Cuz Lord Jamar said he fucks with the "relatable Drake" then mentions that he talks Lean. So what content do people refer to? 3- on Walk On Water, eminem did not pick a hard beat as he slightly cut it off so people can hear the poetic true story of his. Still people trashed it. 4- countless songs of Eminem where he dilates on a very deep storytelling shit that anyone can relate to. I'll give a slew of examples: "Stan" "Sing For The Moment" "Renegade" "Guts Over Fear" "Headlights" "Legacy" "Mockingbird" "When I Am Gone" "Marshal Mathers" "The Way I Am" "White America" "Rock Bottom" "Beautiful" "Beautiful Pain" "Not Afraid" "Like Toy Soldiers" "Space Bound" "The Way You Lie" "Walk On Water" "Best Friend" "Careful What You Wish For" "Lose Yourself" "Till I Collapse" "Stay Wide Wake" "Cleaning Out My Closet" The list goes on folks. You just hating miserably. Being negative and unreasonably critic doesn't make you different nor unique. Stop trashing anything nor anyone. Listen to what u value and if em is invaluable then stop listening to him. Word. And if u check the Playlist of any one them haters that dislike em's "content" you'd find bunch of shitty music there but they come out here in the comment section oozing hatred.

Eminem show, recovery, and revival, and a good portion of mmlp2 all mature Em albums, but people refuse to acknowledge them as content based albums. They rather complain that all Eminem talks about is rape and killing his wife, nothing else, when he hasn't said anything like that since Marshall mathers lp in 2000, and when he did say that, on the next line he foreshadow what the response would be for having such wild lyrics. One of its main purpose were to trigger you and for you to stop taking his fictional lyrics so serious. It's meant to make you uncomfortable, that's the only way he's going to show you how silly it is to accuse him of such crazy things, when it's just shit he "just makes up, to make you mad (criminal)."

@@tellmesomething2412 I see you around hating Em, so I'm not even going to really get in it with you. But about the pop thing, I'll say, Em never hated pop, he just didn't want to be categorized as pop, and the only pop he hated was the more bubble gum cheesy pop artist like n sync, backstreet boys, Britney spears, and stuff like that. He felt like it was unrealistically happy And found it fake And corny.. And even if he did hate pop, what that got to do with my comment, and how does that take away from the content on revival.. your rebuttal would probably be to use a song like remind me or offended or any one of the tongue in cheek songs on there against my argument and be like, "what content!? The song where he's like heavy duty like diarrhea!?!", as if those couple of songs define the underlying theme of the album and negates all the real stuff he touched on in that album, regardless of whether the music is good or not, because I admit some of the music isn't appealing to me on revival, however I appreciate he spoke on things that was a bit risky for him because his fanbase consist of mostly whites and ignorant whites at that...

Marshall Matters was a poor broke ass white kid growing up with poor black kids. Watch his early rap battles. He came up just like Biggie battling dreaming of being big. He got lucky and made history. You can't say Em is not the king and a king of rap and hip hop. He made Kings out of every member of D12. He brought a gang of brothers in with him and was down with Dres camp. I could say a lot more but I'll stop there. He stayed true to a lot of shit. This is disrespect. Who the Hell is anybody? It's all Respect. And I respect Eminem for blessing the culture. Look what the Nigga put his self through.

He is a talented lyricist. He had all of the corporate backing of white America, which is the sad truth you'll want to argue against but can't Even Em admitted it "If i was black, I would've sold half." Now if you take talented lyricism, and all of the corporate backing Em had, along with the shock value, how can you not be at the top of rap for a while? The King of Rap will never exist. Em is definitely a heavyweight and Legend. But so is Nas, Jay Z, Jadakiss, Ice Cube, 2 Pac, Big, Big L, and surprisingly so is X, at the age of 19 1/2

No other "commercial" rapper has committed so much to the well-being of others since Pac or Akon. Ya boy made it cool to chill with regular people and donate. I give 6ix9ine credit there too. Love Daylyt but gotta disagree with him about hip hop culture. first off Black people did invent jeans. The denim fabric was created by African American slaves. used in work ware for cowboys and gold miners and we were the first cowboys and wranglers in mexico called the Vaqueros in 1500. the term cowboy was a derogatory term used to describe black slaves that tended to the cows and horses. The real lone ranger Bass Reeves was African American. Not john wayne. so was taunto a African American black man invented the riding saddle. invented most of the rodeo events like bulldogging and steer wrestling and other events. Most of American history as well as the industrial era was invented by African American slaves and freedmen but was whitewashed out of history. you wouldn't believe all the inventions and innovations created by African Americans. without them the world would be back in the stone ages. American culture is ADOS culture Most of American culture originated with ADOS and our ancestors we are the originators of much of American Culture go do some research. Just a few of the inventions that African Americans invented Light bulb filament without it no working light bulb Yup African American invented the Cell phone. Stop playin We aksi invented Digital cellular wireless communications aka wifi. Out some respect on ADOS name African American holds 3 of the 9 parents on the IBM PC computer. Yes the personal computer was invented by ADOS Also the electronic resistor which helps power ALL electronics like televisions computers radios and most electronic devices used today. Internet domain naming service. com. .net. org etc.. Government wouldn't allow them to have that much control so they sold it to another company which was owned by whites which the government then did allow to control the internet. Three years later in 2000 that company sold it to verisign for $21 billion dollars this is the racist ish ADOS is up against. The tech is now worth 100s of billions. ADOS woman invented VoIP the technology used fir internet phone and streaming technologies like Skype and zoom twitch youtube. Don't play with ADOS. We does this for real Mailbox Gas mask Potato chips Traffic lights Ironing board Blood bank Home security system aka all modern CCTV used today African American woman invented fiber optics cable, touch tone, caller Id, the portable fax machine African American woman was hidden figure responsible for GPS technology. Automatic elevator doors Refrigerator trucks Electret microphone used in 90% of all mics used today in everything like cellphones telephones computers microphones etc... Color PC monitor Computer gigahertz chip Super smoker Water slide Toilet Tissue holder Door knob and door stop Automatic gear shift in cars trucks Train braking system Dustpan Mop Broom Clothes dryer Folding chair Golf tees Lawn mower Lawn sprinkler The modern toilet stop playing Baby stroller with independent wheels Air plain propeller Coin changer device used in vending and casinos and other Rotery engine Biscuit cutter Stainless steel pads Torpedo launcher in sub's Disposable syringe Letter box Street sweepers Cotton planter Horseshoe Train alarm Image converter Radiation detector Paints and stains Ice cream mold Printing press Envelope seal Laser fuels Pressure cooker Portable pencil sharpener used today Fire extinguisher used today Rocket catapult system Heating furnace Hair brush Blimp Hand stamp Fountain pen Dust pan Insect destroyer gun Curtain rod Player piano Urinalysis device Record player arm Guitar Photo print wash Photo embossing machine Motor Lantern Gas burner Kitchen table stop playin Wrench Bycycle frame Egg beater Air conditioning unit Internal combustion engine put some respect on our name Two cycle gas engine Starter generator Refrigeration controls Bottle caps Clothes dresser Electric lamp Hydraulic shock absorber in cars Refrigerator Stairclinmbing lift wheelchair Fire escape ladder Telephone transmitter Electric cutoff switch Telephone system. I didn’t like what he was saying at first but then listened to it more. It makes a lot of since. Really liked what he said about rival and kamikaze was very nice for like 2 weeks. Then when you realize the whole album is the first 3 songs and then maybe 2 others it falls off. The only reason rival is low on my list is because of the production but based on content... album is very solid. He is right no one wants to listen to him make content. I think his new album mtbmb was a good mix of those two.

True. Hes right and wrong. The hip hop as we see it today is totally American and marketed to white people as a stereotype or minstrel of "blacks". In the 90s there was more diversity and some did have a bit of knowledge of self but under it all most weren't about that motherland life.

being 2 years younger than him and agreeing with you, i bet he understands that, i think he's trying to stress the point of Hip Hop, Rap, Funk and Jazz all being music run by white people. Hip Hop and Rap have been moulded to reward those wearing white designer clothing, rapping about guns, drugs, consuming products, being as tough and hard as possible, being stuuupid. i know that it's black culture that created and for good and different reasons than i am trying to stress, great art from those topics listed but other powers cut out the other half of it and distort the context for the opposite reason he is. if the poppin' black rappers were still boasting the black power, African or Jamaican or w.e influenced dialect and rhythms, like most other music started with, i don't think he would be saying what he is. Blues, Rock, Jazz, Funk were all created by black culture. how come you only here in the mainstream about Hip Hop and Rap being from black culture specifically? i think black people should be owning and saying all mainstream music they are responsible for like you are saying. not just owning and gravitating towards gang bangin', lean sippin', jewellery robbin', spray paintin', stuupid Rap. i'd guess a lot of "hard" black artists that make it rappin' about hard stuff are intelligent and know what you're trying to preach. but that doesn't make them money or reward them. it does the opposite. why Jay doesn't rap like Talib. they want you to only claim Hip Hop and Rap. even when you should, saying to do the opposite is more controversial, thus more thought provoking in a better way, i feel. i think he always trollin' in the best way but i'm just a white kid and definitely not an expert on black culture or history so i apologise if i've got it completely twisted.
@azraelidris1080

Yoti He’s is mixing and matching definitions. The culture is ours. But we do not “own” it. What he feels is that a culture isn’t yours unless you own it completely. So no matter what you create it’s not yours unless you are the true gate keeper of that thing. That’s a good point, but it’s not the definition of culture. From there his and to a degree your argument branches out into where the effects of not fully owning the culture get you. They aren’t the same thing. It’s 100% our culture. But we gave away the keys some time ago. The Social economic effects of white owned companies pushing songs that could possibly influence the black community in a negative way vs James browns singing in black and I’m proud. Is another discussion/debate. The wearing and free publicity of white owned companies is also part of that culture. But so was rocawear Sean Jean wu-wear going to see dapper Dan. Ect ect ect. That’s the historical perspective that was missing. There was a time when when who was hot wasn’t dictated by what the radio played but who had the rawest songs on a mix tape. And that was all US.

@@azraelidris1080 i think i get you but the lines seem blurred to me still. like for example replace "culture" with "house" for arguments sake. 'The "house" is ours but we do not "own" it'.. It's 100% our "house" but we gave away the keys some time ago.' that confuses me. even if you rent the "house" out for decades, most people in the community are going to assume the people living there own the "house". i just assumed he's talking about Hip Hop and Rap in it's current state. no big rappers are wearing red, black and green with gold ankhs or Sean Jean or Fubu. i just think he's trying to make a point, not gloss over and ignore history. why when Vlad brought up what you're saying he just started trollin' about not seeing people on the pyramids wearing jeans. i don't think he doesn't agree with Vlad or you i just think he was trying to stress a bigger view or point. i could very well be wrong, just sayin'. feels to me like only the negative aspects get promoted, rewarded and stereotyped in Hip Hop and Rap now and most of it is the negative use of white design. even though i can understand that negative use as positive expression, they don't present it as such, they do the opposite it seems so i feel it's worth pointing out if there is a deeper level maybe he's trying to drive home.
@fishah08sk8
@fishah08sk8 5 лет назад
i kinda feel when what you're saying was happening in Hip Hip wasn't really being promoted and recognised and influencing the masses. when it started to, it was something different. and now claiming that kinda feels like a trick to me if you get that? like they want black people now to claim and be credited for Rap music and the gangsta part of it. not the intellectual enlightened black power part. even though it's all yours, you get me? black people created like all the music i listen to. should not just be credited for Gangsta Rap music.
