Days Gone - THE EXTREME PLAYTHROUGH / Part 43 - THE SAWMILL HORDE & THE BATTLE OF WIZARD ISLAND 

And so it ends…(mostly) The culmination of one of the most epic run-throughs of the Days Gone main storyline. What a journey this has been! A huge thank you to you, Boris, for giving us all so many hours of entertainment and joy-a real pleasure to come along with you and Deek on this adventure. I know you’ve got more for us planned, but thought it a grand time to congratulate you on completing this difficult challenge.

The day will come when Days gone gets the recognition it deserves. You, Boris, are already entitled to it. Thank you very much for your unique and outstanding play through.

Deek may love Sarah, but I love Rikki. She is so awesome in every way. She's my favorite character in Days Gone.

This game was really underrated it’s such a brilliant game and the graphics are terrific

I just did the Manny mission. I managed to hit the sniper with a residue bolt and the ensuing gun fire attracted the horde. Then I went around the other way to fire an explosive arrow to break the fence down. The freakers ignored me and began taking care of business. You then have the option to go straight into the camp, or go back the other way and wait until it's all over. As always, good stuff, Boris.

Great finish to the main story Boris and props for keeping in Lewis Capaldi too. Can't wait for the remaining hordes.

I played through the attack on Wizard Island yesterday. I only just discovered that if you carry on moving to the right at the start of the hill (after the garage you hid in) the next tents have heaps of items, crafting ingredients, and ammo, to loot. How I missed this in all the previous play throughs I'll never know. That's what I love about this game, over 950 hours played and I'm still finding new stuff.

Amazing job, Boris! I honestly forgot about that easy kill location, for killing sawmill horde, it was a nice surprise. And great job with the attack on the wizard island, it's really tough without powerful weapons. Damn, everytime I watch the end credits I get hit with dissapointment and sadness, that they don't seem to want to continue this amazing franchise. Can you imagine Days Gone II? It would be a dream come true. I know it's not the end of this playtrough, but I still want to thank you for taking us with you on this epic journey.

This is what we’ve all been waiting for and you did not fail to deliver! Once again, patience, determination, not panicking and good planning shows that it can be done even with the crappiest of weapons and limited resources! Although it also helps if you’re Boris 😊 I enjoyed that immensely. I bow to you and your mastery, you are the maestro and that horde was your orchestra. The assault on Wizard Island is hard at the best of times but you did a fantastic job on that too although it was pretty intense and there were a few close calls! You must have been exhausted by the end! The best part was Deek sending Skizzo off to meet his maker. I always find that very satisfying lol. And Boozer, I tear up EVERY time. I’m kinda sad that the main story game is now over but I’m glad you’re continuing on to finish up some remaining tasks. Thank you again for entertaining us! Damn this was good.

A masterpiece again. Full of knowledge, patience, guile and olympic levels of skill. I will keep saying this, you are the best days gone content creator there is. Looking forward to watching you mop up the hordes. And then what else you have in store for us. Keep em coming my friend.

What a great story , other studios have a lot to learn from this. Throughout my playthrough I always felt hope that everything was going to turn out for the better , and for the most part it did. Now for your gameplay , masterfully done is the first thing that comes to mind. However if the doctor puts me on high blood pressure pills it's your fault for stressing me out with the sawmill horde lol. I really love the way the main story ends and thankfully there are still more things to be done. During the closing credits I noticed an oddity. There were 2 actors listed for Lisa , strange.... Sad to see this series coming to an end . It was one hell of a journey. Sincerest thanks my friend . 😊😊

Boris, I haven't watched all of this series only half or so. No way I was missing this one. Knew the nursery would be a huge pain. After finishing things up you can upgrade Deek all the way and have a nice easy NG+ playthrough with all the best gear. Cant wait for more best start videos. Well done

Most days gone heavies like myself will have done the sawmill hoard many many times not even including the blackfriday challenge so never get tired of watching others running them around. Well done, every bullet spent and every attractor used. I'm going to save the final assault till after dinner. Good work mate.

Amazing way of taking down the sawmill horde. I feel your pain on replenishing materials and I was sure that after you were done with the horde you will open the patrol car to get some ammo and then go into the tunnel where there is a lot of goodies. Use the environment Boris, use the environment 😜

Yes! I was waiting to see which method you would employ against the sawmill horde and you didn't disappoint. You're right about the crossbow being a Swiss army knife of a weapon but the control system is so bloody temperamental that it frustrates the hell out of me. I get the RPD and BFG as soon as I can nowadays but it's a great thing to have early on in the game (until I found the going South trick that is). I bet you were so happy to see that IDF Pup upgrade :)

Great conclusion to the story!🔥👏 I'm pretty sure I'd have died a few dozen times prior to nailing Skizzo; that part where you were flanked and machine-gunned to death would be a loop for me! 😆🤣🤣 This and battle with Carlos are the bane of the game imo! BTW, looks like you're ready to have that crossbow as much a part of your game moving forward as the bike is! You said it, it's the Swiss-Army knife of the game. 👍Now you have to do a playthrough with only throwing rocks and the baseball bat!! 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers, my friend! 👏👏🫡

Now that was a great episode. The very best part of the game for me. That fight to the tip of the cone and back down again never gets old. I was half expecting the floor in the nursery to disappear.. that's happened to me a couple of times on the pc version. And seeing boozer going home on his little trailer always makes me laugh. I always feel elated when i get to the credits. Nice one boris 👏👏👏

Better than any Saturday night movie anytime never thought it possible take out sawmill horde with them shitty weapons top notch entertainment boris .I think boozer would of been better driving armoured ice cream cart though lol.and what you said about crossbow in another playthrough I agree soon as drifter crossbow available I ditched mg45 cos I had explosive bolts. This was a very important and special episode Boris, You did one hell of a job with the sawmill horde, not to mention the assault on wizard island. You kicked those military bastards asses!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 take a bow my friend. Main story complete… but I imagine you’ll be back with more of side missions and some hordes, finishing off remaining storylines etc. I’ll definitely look forward to seeing those.

I know you have limited your weapons for this playthrough but that tunnel at 34:43 by the sawmill has a lot of good items in it. If you’re going to keep making more DG vids after this series I think it would be cool to see you experiment with some of the lesser used weapons. I just recently tried the rock chuck and I fell in love with it

after all that, the fight with Skizzo was kind of a let down. Other than that, great walk through. Editing it must have been quite the job and I thank you for it. I'm looking forward to see your ultimate play through with the secret route where you can kind of play the game in reverse.

Hi guys. Just out of interest what changes, if any, would you make to the game? I would slim down the story, above all those tedious flashbacks with Sarah, have Deacon fighting the Wizard Island militia at Lost Lake, have some bigger hoards, introduce some harder hitting guns and better defences and have a swarm of freakers assault one of the camps.

Ps why you not using health cocktails? Sometimes better using them than bandages or medkits. I started using them in heavy gunfights and hordes. Tempted fate a few times there mate lol. Not had anymore feedback from u lately I'm upto 6 subs now got new sub two days ago.

I been using attractor bombs by explosives b coz it kills the freaks then explosion kills more ontop ur wasting attractors by barrels really hehe shud throw tractors by traps then set trap off as you saw this is can go wrong hehe and I gave a you a shout out fir this strategy on my channel ie sat on mash unit. Was screaming use ur crossbow bolts hehe. Why didn't you go inside sawmill upto top floor Or the wooden cabin there? There's free resources in there

Seeing as I've racked up well over 500hrs since first finding the game 5-6wks ago I decided it's time to find another game to play now after I finished taking out the reset hordes on my NG+ H2 game for the 3rd time. I went through the "Games like this" PlayStation recommendations list a few times and tried several games in my "To-Play" pile. Needless to say, I've just started my 5th playthrough of Days Gone 🤣🤣🤣 I wasn't quite ready to take on Survivor/Survivor 2 mode(s) so this playthrough is NG+ Hard with self-imposed limited fast travel, no fast forwarding time & forcing myself to try new weapons. Someday I hope to get through the challenges (approx have some level in approx 1/3 of the patches - mostly silver with one gold) & be skilled (and confident) enough to try a playthrough _like_ this.............except with nowhere near as many limitations & somewhat better weapons 😂
