I never stated that it makes ppl happy. People just find addictive things or activities to take them away from the pain, etc. But I appreciate the input nonetheless.
Mannnnnn When I Think Of Dayton OH, I Only Think About The Powerful 70's/80's Soul & Funk Groups That Came Up Out Of There Like: The Ohio Players, Slave, Lakeside, Zapp & Roger, Dayton....Etc, Damn Watching This Truly Brings A Tear To My Eye....Trill Shit!!!!
I went to Trotwood Madison back in the late 70’s early 80’s first concert i went to was Parliament Funkadelic at Hera Arena. I was 13 years old . Changed my life.
@@kodiewiththewrenches3538 I dont understand why you would call that person a dumb f uck. They probably dont live there and they saw a store that had been boarded up, so can you blame the dude? Everyone that watches this video will think its closed. You dumb fuck.
just to let anyone know that's not the hood for Dayton no mo fr n I know bc I live here if u want to show a hood of Dayton go to town view or the bass that's were were mf trapping out they front door in front of the cops
I worked at the Inland/Delco/Delphi plant on Home Ave. That plant is in a landfill except for the two buildings built by the Wright Brothers. Dayton has strong ties to Detroit and now it looks like Detroit. The only real economic driver Dayton has is Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The Delco Moraine brake plant was torn down and a gambling casino replaced it. Dayton's wealth is the Feds and their ability to print money and go in to debt with no questions asked. Dayton is doomed. The City leaders had five wells installed on the banks of the river to shoot water 250' into the sky at a cost of several million dollars. When the fountains were first operated a wind of about 5 miles per hour totally disrupted the display sending water into building and the crowd. Dayton, you are not what you were.
I'm from Dayton and graduated from Trotwood HS. I love Ohio, never forget where I'm from but the heroine problem, police racism, gentrification of areas was too much,I moved to San Diego. Go Buckeyes
I lived on the outskirts of Trotwood. Where I lived is now a part of Dayton. Lived there in the 70's, 80's and part of the 90's. Everything in Dayton fell apart when NCR, Frigidaire. and GM left. Until then I loved living there. But after that happened it was the beginning of the end.
Why y’all always got to show all the bad parts of Dayton, I lived here all my life and ik that area like the back of my hand but even though Dayton is very far from the prefect city and it can be really boring at times lol, there are some good places, like Dayton is close to beavercreek and centerville. Beavercreek and centerville are amazing places to live and they have some of the most beautiful houses and apartments. Then there Miami valley hospital which had great jobs that pay excellent, with no experience. The Wright brothers lived literally less than 10 minutes away from the area that you showed and if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t even be riding on planes today 🤷🏽♀️ so yes Dayton not a prefect city but no city is, I just wished our city could do more to highlight the greatness that it holds. Dayton could literally be a tourist attraction because of all the history that it has but our people who live here do so little to fix this city up and make it a possibility.
First off you're gorgeous af. But I agree.. they're showing the slums of Dayton..but places like miamisburg, all the places you named.. Beaver Creek, Fairborn, Kettering, oakwood are all nice AF. 💯
This is really in one of Dayton's more upscale neighborhoods. One benefit that Dayton promotes is how affordable housing is. Often off ramps from I-75 are backed up with buyers ready to snap up these deals.
Didn't know I was coming through there till the last minute lol. I was working, was only in town for about an hour and a half wanted to film Cincinnati but didn't have time.
My family moved away from Dayton to the Midwest in 1971.. It’s truly saddening how people trashed the magnificent large homes and neighborhoods over the years in the older neighborhoods rich in history. In the Midwest, such homes and apartments are usually well maintained. I would be afraid to reside in the neighborhoods in Dayton today. The city evolved into one large ghetto over the years and the city is now a shell of its former self.
@@styleskeepemmad1429 yes they did trash the homes in the very beginning. You can’t tell me this was done entirely by the landlord or city. After having their property trashed repeatedly by unruly drug tenants, they’re not going waste much money on fixing up rentals in distressed neighborhood. The block busting land lords from Dayton that destroy neighborhoods with their drug deal renters and whores, ran out of places to ruin because Dayton is now a ghetto of all sorts with the most heroin than any city in the US.
Charlie, Love your videos. It really shows the gritty side of America that many don't know about or want to publicize. If you get a chance, try doing the hood in New Orleans. NOLA looks like ground zero in some places.
I live in Columbus Ohio. That's a huge city. Tons of people and places put into small areas with surrounding cities all connected to it. Love Ohio. We are heartbeat of America for many reasons and people want be here from all over the great 50.
I can say that is the least littered hood I've ever seen, even here in small cities like Pensacola FL there's trash everywhere. Good job keeping the area clean.
I am moving to Dayton Ohio from eastern Kentucky in a few months mainly bc I’m in a backwoods area that I’m not originally from and just looking to get back to the big city. My main concerns are that my family is originally from England and just want to know how if people would give me trouble for being a Brit and an Englishman, I am 6’1 and 205 pounds and a pro mma fighter and I know how to handle myself I just wanted to make sure I’m not gonna have any unnecessary trouble, cheers lads🇬🇧🏴
@@TabletsandTrees that’s an obvious fact mate, but I’m not entirely worried about it, before I went into mixed martial arts I served in the United Kingdom Special Forces and the British Army and I’ve seen and experienced a lot meaner streets during my deployments in Iraq and parts of Africa then the ones people from Dayton are used to so I’m not entirely worried about some wannabe gangsters from Dayton Ohio of all places lads, my family are former and current military personnel for Her Majesty’s government mainly running jobs for UKSF and military intelligence. If I were to get shot or something my entire family would gladly take a trip to the states and start hunting whoever shot me and then would cleanse that blokes bloodline all the way down to their distant cousin. My family and my ancestors have served Her Majesty’s government since c. 1626. I would prefer to not run into unnecessary trouble given the outcome for those involved. I would just prefer to have a peaceful time while living there but if I were to run into trouble then I know how to handle myself lads, that’s kind of why I asked the question in the first place because I do not want any trouble that will cause my family to get involved. cheers from a Brit🏴🇬🇧🍻
Next time you come to Dayton stop by these neighborhoods (Crown Point , Santa Clara , North Riverdale , Drexel , Lakeview , Miami Chapel , Greenwich Village , Westwood , Southern DV & Townview .. those the real trenches .. or stop by East Dayton anywhere along Xenia Ave / Linden Ave / East 3rd you’ll see some shit.
Dayton Ohio is a large city of 140k plus people. Springfield Ohio is a large town of 60k. Both went on hold for growing. Now they are starting again. Its slow but will make it.
The suburbs are packed so close to the city limits too. There are half a million people or more in Montgomery County, but over half live in the suburbs now because of the damn drugs robbing and violence. I am near Englewood and it's way better than living in that gutter area in the city
Very nice, tidy and green scenery. Nice place to live at the first glance. Not hot, obviously winter's would be cold and snowy. Summers hot but humid. Good fresh air without much dust. Its historic background attracts me(aviation birth place). Maybe not the best, but nothing's perfect.

Looks kinda like the SE side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, I never knew that Dayton was this Depressing, I use to visit Dayton back in the 90s when I had a family there and it wasn't like this back then.
Supa Doopa i just from a miami and DR trip. the Uber guy refused to take me to opa locka. he said we might not come out, i said but rick ross from there, he said they dont care! lmfao
Why is that gate shut to get out of that neighborhood and on to the main street? What if there's an emergency and a fire truck or ambulance needs to get in that neighborhood. You would think the city would not allow that street to be gated like it is.
God I live right by here and I HATE WHEN PEOPLE ASK THIS the reason why is because of crimes, and they block off the main street so that they take long to get away from the police
when the automobile industry shut down dayton shut down for the working class I lived there in the late 60's worked at. McCalls. and cains barber shop on Germantown
Yanoo.. I'm only 16 and I have memories on every single street shown in this video. I have live in every part of Dayton up until last month. God got me out of there because I would only go so far If I stayed .
@@schb0235 whats it like up there? Is there money circulating? From what ive read about employment rates yall are doing pretty good. What is the average rent for a 2/1 apartment? Whats the crime like?
@@jerryspencer2811 downtown and other areas surrounding dayton have really improved but Dayton is still very affordable, ranked first in the country in January for affordability . we have had a 2 bed for 475 and it was heat and water/ trash paid. Big with balcany. But this was in a sweet spot surrounded by so-so and some bad areas. So the area as a whole has alot of crime and even though the other side of dayton has far less crime, Dayton has ranked about the same per capita crim rate as cities like detroit and chicago. So be prepared in certain areas. Overall there is alot of good that Dayton has to offer but is laughed at by all of its booming suberbs and surrounding small cities.
I'm just seen this 1st time but dayton Ohio.is my home town could you please let us see the names of the streets it's been years since I been able to go back to visit ..i get so homesick but it's heartbreaking thanks for videos I used to live on Wroe ave & Drake & main st area I was in Jr high bout 45 yrs ago
Odd one out, self-righteously plotted, scared guilty stupid city. Even worse than 25 years ago when I lived there. Off N. Main st. Tim Ryan bears the most winning edge.
Funny thing about dayton is the areas that look better have more crime. Salem avenue looks better than this westside neighborhood but has the most crime.
That white limo probably belongs to the local dealer. Why aren't the Police there A lot of the trees need removed or trimmed . Why can't they play basketball on a vacant lot ? Why aren't the used tires removed ? There must be some leadership in Dayton capable of shaking that community out of its torpor , surely ? I've been part of reversing what was a similar downward spiral in another Ohio city 10 years ago . Once the downward becomes an upward spiral , it gets incrementally easier to improve , although I accept it will probably take several years.
Nice. I kinda prefer the perspective because being a bit higher, you can see around the parked cars and other obstacles on the street. Nothing wrong with when you do it in your car, but being a bit higher makes the view a bit better. Though I will watch your vids regardless of what you drive. I've never been to any of these cities, so watching these vids is an interesting way to get a glimpse at them. This sort of thing is exactly why the internet is better than any other medium.
Every area has low income and poverty areas. And sadly after the Tornado the community looks even worse. Dayton is a Beauty City. Just highlighting a low income area is not Representative of the entire city.
no that shit is boring as hell. why do you think in most of his videos he drive past the good boring neighborhoods to see the bad exciting hood neighborhoods
Neighborhoods in Dayton, like this one, were high end areas back in the day when Dayton was among the industrial powerhouses of the midwest. As more and more work was outsourced overseas, people started losing jobs and leaving by the wayside. This left a huge influx of "nice, big houses" for very cheap. A lot of these houses look nice at a quick glance but most are very dilapidated and rotted from the inside-out.. after the housing market bubble popped in 2008 you were able to buy houses like these for as low as $600 or $700! I saw many houses going for under a grand. Only catch was that you were required to get the house up to code within 90 day or something like that..
@@DownHillSkateTime yeah the automotive companies sent a lot of work to Mexico also a lot of money left Detroit after the riots so the once great houses ended up dilapidated pretty similar story throughout the midwest unfortunately
I have an idea to make videos somewhat like these. But I'm a white dude and I don't know how kindly they would take me driving through their hoods with cameras all over my ride. I have been in and through hoods here in Cincinnati all the time and I lived right there around mcmicken and vine so I lived in the hood for a few years. But I guess they would probably just assume I was a cop huh??
Fuck is you guys talkin bout the hood is the lower income middle classed too lower class neighborhoods that have a higher rate of crime an poverty yaw both sound like ya dont know
Born and raised in Dayton Ohio this all on the westside the other sides of town look exactly the same people of different colors that's all Dayton is depressing as fuck most of this is off Gettysburg
Don’t. Move to Columbus. Dayton is a dead, boring ghetto town. Nice parts in Columbus or Cincinnati. Better yet , move to Tampa or someplace warm. Nashville is a up and coming city. Anyplace but Dayton.
Troy ohio getting worse then dayton overdoses are through the roof it's sad I moved from dayton to troy and troy felt way worse been shot twice getting into shit now I'm in Columbus theres some places like east haven uzi alley and linwood but it's usually chill overhere people mind there business
Jungles Bongles I live in Dayton and have hundreds of videos of Dayton on here. I have videos of burned out houses and where I walk inside and do videos of abandoned houses here
