Finally the video that we've all been waiting for! the official run and install of the Smart spark LS ignition system on a iron block truck LS with a rear mounted cam sensor. The verdict is that the SSLS WILL RUN the gen 3 truck stuff but will have an extended start time or no start in some cases. for now I will be dealing with the extended start time while I assemble the rest of my parts for the front cam sensor conversion.

MSD 6014 VS Daytona Sensors Smart Spark LS FULL COMPARISON | Carb LS | Carbureted LS
Today We will be going through all the pros and cons of the Smart Spark LS ignition module made by Daytona Sensors and the more well known 6014 ignition box made by MSD. Although the 2 boxes are very similar and share several features, the strength of each box comes in the form of the differences between them. This took a lot of time and research to make so I hope you guys enjoy the video and decide for yourselves what you should run on your carbureted ls swap.

DIAGNOSING A BAD MSD 6014- Step By Step Troubleshooting | Carbed LS | Carb LS Swap
After a good year of running my Carbed 5.3, the MSD 6014 that I had installed in may of 2019 finally gave out and I as super mad. I don't even think the carbureted ls ran for more than 10k miles before the MSD box gave up. When people do LS swaps, they do them in hopes to gain what they don't have in their original engine, in this particular case, reliability. Since I daily drive my truck every single day, I need a bullet proof set up so when this MSD box gave out, I got on the phone with their tech line and had them send me out another one. Carb ls conversions are supposed to be easy to work on and straight forward, but if the quality of aftermarket parts make the process of installing a holley carb or demon carb difficult, then what is the point?

Today I'll be showing you guys how to set up your MSD modules so you can get your LS swap project running! Any questions feel free to write them down below! These instructions should work for any MSD Box models 6010, 6012 and 6014. The main difference between them(as far as I know) is that the 6010 and 6012 take specific reluctor teeth to work and the 6014 auto detects and adjusts. Price wise they're almost the same, but the 6014 is a bit more expensive. Hopefully this will get your Carbed ls swap running! The Carb I'm using on the LS is a Holley 600 Vac Secondary. Manifold is a Holley dual plane manifold. This set up is a 1975 Dodge D100 Body with a LM7 engine. Process for an LQ4 and LR4 will be the same for you ls carb swap!
Holley HLY-300-130 Dual Plane Intake Manifold- Went with the dual plane for more TQ at low RPMS, the Edelbrock one looks almost the same, but I wanted mine to say Holley lol.
