[Update] We saw your comments about problems with posing. Sorry for not mentioning this in the video. The problem here is that in the transfer process, keyframes created automatically in Blender. You can see them as yellow diamonds on a Timeline at the bottom. To pose the character and then render, you need to delete these keyframes. You can do that by selecting all the bones in the Pose Mode (just press A in Viewport) and then deleting all the keyframes(diamonds) on a timeline. After that you should be able to render out the poses

I’m interested in trying DAZ 3D to create scenes for comics but I’m not sure what this program can really do. These are the things that I’m interested in accomplishing in DAZ 3D: 1) Design custom characters (e.g., different weights, heights, muscle mass, head shape, facial features, hair, etc.) 2) Pose two or more characters together (e.g., a couple, a mother & child) 3) Change the characters’ facial expressions 4) Create a still image of hair & clothing that looks dynamic. Hair & clothing moves around in action scenes, and it would help to portray that through the still image. 5) Add fantasy features to human characters, such as posable angel/fairy wings, cat/dog ears, a tail, retractable claws, etc. 6) Change the camera angle and come up with interesting camera angles. 7) Create indoor scenes. 8) Create outdoor/nature scenes. 9) Make sure characters fit inside their environment. 10) Portray characters with superpowers or magical powers, etc. I need to know how to apply special effects in order to emulate magical powers or superpowers. For example, It would be useful to learn how to create splashing/swirling water, blowing/swirling fire, water/fire tornados, gust of wind, magical lights/clouds surrounding a character, etc. 11) Use animals in a scene and pose them according to their body type (e.g., a snake, a bird, a lion, an elephant, a giraffe, someone riding a horse, etc.) Edit..... 12) Use automobiles in a scene (e.g., pose a character inside a car, open the car's door & trunk in certain scenes) ........ All of these are very useful things to learn in order to create a good scene, and properly show the story through the panels. I don’t mind using a combination of DAZ 3D and Blender as long as I can put together any type of scene, preferably in the shortest amount of time possible. I’d love it if you decide to make any tutorials on these topics. It would really help my comic come to life if I can find the best way to do this using 3D software. I’ve watched several of your videos so far and I find them helpful. I’d love to see what you share in the future. Thank you :)

Hi Joris, I have used the newest version of the Daz to Blender bridge at the moment of recording and releasing a video(February). I have checked the newest version right now and you are right, there are no proper rigging tools available for some reason. Hope this will be fixed soon, as there are "Rigging Tools" section available, but it is blank. Sorry that I don't have a better answer for you right now.

is it possible to send character back to daz3d after editing/sculpting it in blender ??? if yes than how ?
@RenderGuide
@RenderGuide 3 года назад
Hi Imtiaz, yes, you just need to export the figure from Blender as either .obj (wavefront) or .fbx format and then import it into the Daz Studio. We have a tutorial video where we import the .fbx object into Daz Studio - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rVuVmKh8Kx0.html Have a nice day!

Well, i don't know if i do something wrong, but if i import my daz posed figures into blender they get strange legs, not like in daz. There is no documentation for the DazToBlender addon, so i really don't know where the problem is.
@RenderGuide
@RenderGuide 3 года назад
Hi Vitali, sorry to hear that. Maybe try with the generic Genesis 8 figures without any additional assets (meaning clothes/poses/...), just an idea to see if it is related to other assets.

I installed the bridge from Daz Central but the add-on doesn't show up in Blender. How do I get the add-on?
@RenderGuide
@RenderGuide 3 года назад
Hi there, in case you followed the tutorial to the Add-on window in Blender and searched Daz and you can't find it there, then there might be a mistake somewhere in the install path. Try searching for the DTB file on your computer, sometimes Daz Central can put it into C:\Users*Username*\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender path. If you find the file like this - then you need to press the "Install" button in the Blender Add-on menu and locate this file. Otherwise, you also can reinstall the Daz to Blender Bridge or Blender. Just some ideas, hope it helps.

I tried to import genesis 8.1 and got the character and rigs and clothes . But alas they were locked . So I thought maybe I should try importing genesis 8 model instead. Now I have a character rig that works but no clothes and hairs . I am using blender 2.92 and daz 4.15 pro.

No matter what approach I take to get an animated daz figure to import to Blender, it always fails at the fingers/hands. 99% of the time the arms/legs/head all move correctly but the fingers and hands always get screwed up. Thought this method might finally ease my suffering but to no avail. Everything other than the fingers/hands moved properly. Anyone else run into this issue?

Hi Yorboi, I would like to help, just some ideas: - make sure that you're exporting a figure with a Timeline(keyframe) animation instead of aniBlocks. We explained in the ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1OxuHOmzhbw.html how you can bake aniBlocks into Keyframes maybe it helps. - make sure that you are using the latest Blender, Daz Studio and Daz to Blender bridge - and if this does not help, then maybe test on different figures or animations, as exactly the ones that they are using may be the problem Hope this helps!

The entire export import failed. I did as the video said. Hit daz to blender, then I hit subdivision 0, then hit ok. Went over to blender and hit the import genesis 3/8. I got all kinds of fail messages and it imported some different model.
@RenderGuide
@RenderGuide 3 года назад
Hi there, just some ideas, make sure that you are selecting the character only. It also would be a good idea to test things out on the clean file. Just create new Daz Studio scene and add a single Genesis 8 character without anything else. Try exporting and importing this character. If it works - then on your previous testing some other items on the scene or the type of character itself could be at fault. Hope this help!

Hi there, unfortunately not sure exactly what went wrong in your case. You kind advise to use the text script should your voice not be clear. However, your voice is clear and quite good then you go and spoil it with sordid background MUZAC. This leaves no choice other than to read the script. Why do you add noise if it serves no purpose, other than to irritate. Your tutorial is a year old and does not work on Blender 3. In an earlier Blender facial morphs are distorted. The DTB versions are a mystery and nobody seems to care to update or make any updates known. It is too early to appraise your tutorial especially if it does not keep abreast with updated versions of Blender and Daz. Thanks for trying there are snippets that could be useful when the crinkles are ironed out.

@@RenderGuide I have imported my model but it's quite massive in scale . Also the model seems to be locked . When I use the rig and try to pose him ,the rig moves but not the mesh , also since the mesh is locked and binded to the rig(armature) it smears away the geometry
@RenderGuide
@RenderGuide 3 года назад
Hi Fiction Factory, regarding the scaling, while importing with DazToBlender there is a "Scale*100" option that you can turn off to make it smaller. Regarding the locking, not sure if it is related to keyframes created automatically in Blender. You can see them as yellow diamonds on a Timeline at the bottom. Maybe deleting these keyframes would help.
