Make Sparkling Crystal GEODE Bath Bomb Tutorial! Learn how to make this stunning & sparkling geode bath bomb! This bath bomb is really easy, even for beginner bath bomb-makers. But it does take a little extra time..... But it is so worth it!!!
Most geode-makers do it the easy way & their bombs don’t look half as good! If you’re a perfectionist, definitely do it my way! Which is to make the bomb, cure for 24 hours, then “glue” the salts on.
BOMB RECIPE: 2 cups (500 grams) baking soda, 1 cup (200 grams) citric acid, 1/2 cup (60 grams) corn starch + 15 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80, & 10 milliliters surfactant (cocamidopropyl betaine). Mix dry & wet ingredients together separately. Then slowly add wet into dry while whisking. The slower the better. Divide mix for multiple colors. Molding: Add mix, filling to the top, then lightly pack it. Add loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh both sides together tightly until the molds touch all the way around. Tap with a spoon to release the bomb. Dry for 24 hours.
GLUE RECIPE: 1.5 ounces melt & pour soap, 1/2 ounce cocoa butter, & 1/2 ounce coconut oil. Melt ingredients together & stir. NOTE: The glue dries quick so I suggest using a burner to keep it warm (turn it on low if you see if thickening, then turn it off so it doesn't burn). SALTS: I did 2 salt colors on the bath bombs. I used gold mica around the rim. RIM: Try to accent or compliment the salts; use a contrasting color to really make the rim stand out & "pop". "CRYSTALS": I used eco-friendly, holographic, silver glitter & crushed crystal mica. Sprinkle a bit over the salts as the last step. It takes the bombs from brilliant to stunning. The bath bombs were amazing; they fizzed, foamed, & smelled wonderful. Mine sunk though bc I’m impatient when it comes to stuff like this, plus, my little boy really wanted to put them in water… Who can say no to that!?!
