I would like to see you break down some 10s like you do with the 8s. Budget all the way up. Especially the dayton audio max x, ds18 genxx 10 and so on up the scale. You do a very good job of no bs. Just facts.
That G7 is gonna set some records, I'm sure after it goes in the truck it aint coming back out, but I believe that DB drive would make a budget friendly G6
Been missing some videos, as always very imformative. I have never owned a pair of 8's I have always been a 12's guy. I am considering them, and also looking at some 10's. These would be for my daily driver, the build will still be with my 12's and maan I love my SA V2 12's, but would like to hear the new U V2 12's. I love the sound that SA 12" line creates, very wide on spectrum. Make em nice and punchy, long and drawn, but yes enclosure has to be on point! All Respect!
AYY! MBE. When you gonna give us a good comparison review with a JL 8w7. I love my DD 9912s and my sundown Zv6s but there has always been a special place in my heart for the 8w7. Just wanna see your take on them.

that sundown X series sub been out for years and still today people are comparing the brand new subs to an old design by sundown. Testament to there design and reputation for a world class sub
@@M.B.Enclosures released in August of 2018, so almost 5 yr old design and $330 can pick you up one. Not sure what online stores are selling the db drive though I'm sure it's a lot higher. Personally I'd rather buy a 10 inch sub than the 8s if one is going to use the same size box. U and SA series 10s is 1 cuft ported. Other brands of 10s about the same.
In my opinion, people like sundown because they offer rebuildable parts which makes them more DIY repair friendly. So you can abuse the hell out your woofer Saturday and rebuild it Sunday so you can go back to beating the block during the work week. A lot of other companies offer recones as well but it seems Sundown was the most user repair friendly from the beginning. This may change after the recent buyout. I'm hoping for a solo x 8 myself, because of the drop in bolt on recone.
That's a possibility, but its more than likely from the need for more bass, our ears get used to a sound level over time so we want more which in turn demand more from the subwoofer leading to distortion and eventually blowing.
The 8 might be better but don't sleep on Jacob Fuller and his designs. Sundown will walk db drive any day of the week. Wait until the nightshade 8 comes out. The Gately Audio Relentless V2 8 is king. Compare those as they are equally rated rms wise.

You said the sundown can’t handle 1250 rms. I have 4 Xv3s on a 8k, demos after demos, day after day, months after months, they are taking it like a champ. From my experience with them, 1500-2000 rms is more realistic just don’t clip
great looking sub some of these 8" subwoofers are losing there purpose tho.the g7 needs almost 1.5 cubes most dc audio 12" subwoofers call for 1.25 cubes makes no sense to run 8s that need a box that big

Why would you compare those 2 subs one is 800 rms and the other is 1250 rms one is made to handle more power then the other the 12 inch version of the db is 4000 rms with a max of 8000 rms for 1200 bucks. Compare $500 sub to a $300 sub not a good comparison.
1200 for the 12in sub is the online price so that you’re encouraged to buy through a local dealer. They don’t want to have to deal with shipping out individual orders. Easier to sell wholesale and have dealers sell them. Like Jerrold said the 12’s are less than 600 where I’m at and the 8s are the same if not a few dollars more than dd.
@@M.B.Enclosures I'm not a fanboy of any particular brand, no bias here whatsoever. But I believe you called the x8v3 "The Original King" a year ago. There is a video of sundown testing it and at it's rated 2000rms was hitting 151db. Pretty sure the xv3 will stand up to the DB just fine considering it's age and price level.
@@marcuslinton310 can’t go based off the $500 price point online because at my local dealer the g7 is not that much more expensive than the sundown. Send me the link of the 8’ sundown CONSISTENTLY playing at 2000w rms. Numbers done lie mane even the g5s eat up the sundowns. I had 2 10s g5s off a bd drive a7 3500 and I abused them for 2 years before I upgraded and sold my system to a buddy that’s still bumpin it till this day almost 3 years later
@@MANUELRAMIREZ-gc2cn The x8v3's are rated at 2,000rms, pretty sure they will handle that and a bit more consistently. Sundown isn't known for BSing their RMS ratings. Sundown has some of their subs being tested on their channel and they've always held up to abuse, even more then MBE does for his testing. And yes, comparing price points is important and doesn't matter some random dealer decides to undercut their prices. I bet if he swapped out those G78's with the current X8v3's, the numbers would be right in line. If anything, being cheaper helps the X8v3's come out on top if the numbers are close enough or maybe even better, who knows. This is why all these tests are basically crap unless you do them all exactly the same and that's pretty difficult for most people to do expense wise.
There is such a thing as lipstick on a pig. Now im not saying that is the case here but until there are power put to them and do some real world testing. For example the Rockville sub "looks" like a decent sub which we see time and again they pretty much suck. For my money im taking Sundown everyday and twice on Sundays because of their reputation. That's just me, all im saying is ive seen plenty of things that look "good on paper".

Compare the higher end sundown to the db drive, that sundown in the video is made in china cause it’s a little more budget, where most of sundowns higher quality and more pricey is made in Korea and you’ll be blown out the water by the sundown
Maybe in certain parts of the U.S. but where I’m from in Texas, db drive is know as sundown/ds18/skar killer. In most of texas actually lol. Especially South texas where there headquarters are. Db drive also has a shit ton of business and recognition overseas and in many international countries.
