@@Yoni123 there were other drinks you could buy that were like some kind of lemonade thing with a shot of vodka that each had a half of a lemon in them
I love how inclusive the XFL is. No way would the NFL give that much commentary or explanation, let alone have a cameraman show a closeup of a lemon in their own hand. It would have been off to commercial.
Bro if fans did this at an NFL game, that fanbase would be publicly scrutinized by the media regardless of the reason why fans were throwing stuff. I'm so glad this isn't the case in the XFL
A fellow Roughneck fan here: Same reason as to why they took away the beach ball and footballs punted into the fan zone, gotta create a fan vs security rivalry.
@@tylermaheux9258 i bet they didn't enjoy cleaning up lemons either 😂 i'm going next home game and i'll be sure to do my part in cleaning up the beer snake aftermath
0:55 im the fan wearing the #1 jersey doing a fist pump. They took our beer snake. So we gave them lemons. Dont take our beer snake. All hail beer snake and lets go Defenders. All we wanted was beer snake and we let them hear it all damn game. We made legit like 10-12 snakes. Lowkey i was the one organizing the beer snake starting in pre game. I was telling people arriving to contribute tocthe beer snake, i told the sections next to us to contribute. It was going great until stadium people just took it away from us. It was bullshit. On that last drive, we finally got one big enough they couldn't take away.
Hi, I was there. I see myself in the video. Security came up out of nowhere and just took it from us and took multiple beer snakes from us. We started changing "We Want Beer Snake" and other things to get a beer snake. It wasn't just in the supporters section, but also in the other sections they were chanting and taking them away. Great W, but security needs to calm down.
@@davidmontgomery1442 that’s cus in mls, the supporter sections are absolutely crazy with flairs, flags, drums, and lots and lots of jumping so safe standing sections are vital. I wish more us sports allow/support these supporter groups because tbh, they are what make mls games fun cus the quality of soccer itself isn’t very awe inspiring
I love that its coming from the standing section of the stadium too, which is where the supporters group of DC United stand and sing. We need more of this passion in American sports!
Stadium thought they were all over it by confiscating the beer snake - and then they realized maybe they also shouldn’t have put lemons in everyone’s drinks. Doh!
When life gives you lemons, make life take the lemons back. GET MAD! I dont want your lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these?! DEMAND to see lifes manager!
Context I posted in another comment: The one DC United game I've been to was the last game of the season (last season), there was a Beer Snake that was probably half the height of the supporters section is tall. It sparked a fight in the stands between two rival supporters groups because the older group was pissed about the newer group doing it. It was doubly hilarious to me because DCU was dreadful and it was the last game of the season in which they were getting smacked around (Final score of 5-2). The older supporter group could not handle lighthearted fun and thought all the fans present should be commiserating with the team. They both play in Audi Field so that could have something to do with it.
They were the Seattle Dragons before. Now they're the Seattle Sea Dragons. Why the change? Is it because, between XFL versions, the Seattle Kraken were formed and Dragons was too close to that?
If a brawl happened at a UFL game between the DC Defenders and the Houston Gamblers, the PA man would say this: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. DUE TO THE BRAWL THAT HAPPENED DURING TODAY'S GAME, THIS GAME WILL END WITH THE DC DEFENDERS FORFEITING THE GAME TO THE HOUSTON GAMBLERS. THIS ACTION HAS BEEN DONE BY ORDER OF THE UNITED FOOTBALL LEAGUE. THANKS FOR COMING TO AUDI FIELD. PLEASE DRIVE HOME SAFELY. After the season, the UFL President would say this: Because of the brawl that happened at the Defenders versus Gamblers game that resulted in DC losing the game by forfeit, I am going to bring the NCAA's college football Death Penalty into the pro football ranks and give it to the Defenders and EVOLVE it into something that has never been done before: the EXTREME Death Penalty. I am ordering the DC Defenders to disband as punishment. I'm also going to hold a contest to see what city will have a UFL expansion team replace the defunct DC Defenders. Cities that already have a UFL team and the entire DC area will not be eligible. However, cities that are in the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones are eligible; this also includes cities that had an XFL or USFL team before the merger. The winning team will be announced after the 2026 UFL Championship Game. If the 2026 UFL Championship Game ended, the UFL President would say this: The contest has ended! After two long years of having only seven UFL teams, we have found an expansion team to replace the defunct DC Defenders! The contest winner is Joe Orsini from Columbus, Ohio! He is here with me today! The expansion team will be called the Columbus Black Knights! The team's colors will be deep dark red, neon green, and magenta! The Black Knights' mascot will be Kallen Stadfeld! The Black Knights' home games will be played at Ohio Stadium! The first game of the Black Knights' inaugural season will be a home game against the 2025 UFL Champion Memphis Showboats! The Black Knights will be in the XFL Conference! COLUMBUS BLACK KNIGHTS TEAM STATS: Best record: 10 wins, no losses (2027) Number of UFL Championships: 25 (2028-2053) Number of XFL Conference Championships: 26 (2027-2053)
@@legoman7041 Of course it's not the NFL is not competing with the NFL. There has always been minor league professional football since the 70's. You even had the USFL back in the day recently. Those leagues just like the XFL is spring football because America is a Football country. So they are just giving football fans year round football.
