This is for deploying mobile radio or television units. The transmitting antennas are arrayed on top of this collapsible mast. As you can see, the mast is constructed of sturdy metal components, as it must be able to handle significant wind loading while fully extended. A mast of the size shown here will need at least a medium sized flatbed truck or suitable tracked vehicle platform to keep up with armoured forces in the assault phase of war.
Yeah...you can use it for radio antennas in warzones...or...lights on construction sites...automated flagpoles...strap a wind turbine onto the end and truck it around supplying power in grid down scenarios... Just a couple possibles that aren't "the world has come to an end and we have to communicate with the global offensive raging on all around us..."
