These two deserve all the success they get. I used to run my own food truck in DC some eight years ago and I would often park next to them. I am telling you that even though I was a competitor they always made me feel like family. Good people. Too bad I live in Australia now and can’t try their food!
As someone who lives in washington dc I certify Roaming Rooster is amazing! The one on U street is where I go. There is another on Bladensburg road I haven't been to (the one being filmed in this video) but I'm sure it's the same quality!
I’m so happy that that tweet got them even more customers and made them more well known! Happy to see good honest people thrive. I hope they’re still thriving and will keep on thriving especially during these hard times.
I had the honey butter it's not that good. Compared to hangry Joes its very mid. We had the roaming roosters in Tysons so maybe it was just the location.
The Ethiopian population in DC is huge and if they’d opened an Ethiopian restaurant the competition would be fierce. Roaming Rooster is famous in DC and these guys have struck gold!
@@SlyFan-mp8dc I've had KFC NHC and it's not bad, but yeah it has nothing on authentic NHC. There are websites that will quickly ship nashville hot chicken from nashville to your house(even if you're in another state). I actually saw the original inventor of nashville hot chicken a couple months ago at Prince's hot chicken. She was sitting in front of her restaurant eating and I 100% recognized her lol. Didn't say anything though because she was eating and I didn't want to annoy her. You can also try to make your own NHC at home.. Or order online. I've heard locals swear by Gillie Chester's saying that it's a pretty good authentic seasoning that you can get online. This looks intriguing but I haven't tried it - www.etsy.com/listing/688517801/hatties-nashville-hot-chicken-rub?gpla=1&gao=1& I've also tried the lynchburg hot chicken seasoning which doesn't taste authentic but it was super good on pizza. I'd wager that any NHC seasoning is amazing on pizza.
if anyone is interested to know, the secret spice is called ‘Berbere’, it’s our traditional condiment used in a variety dishes back home. Have fun guys 👋🏾
Love Roaming Rooster. So happy that they have an actual location now and I can order from them on ubereats. Always get the honey butter. The Georgetown food truck was always a treat and everyone would get excited. Only downside would be the long line.
Wow shout out to Bri Hall for helping bring attention to this amazing place! Been subscribed to her on here for some years, seeing a simple tweet of hers lead to so much is dope
Yooo I live in the DC area...I have tradition of always take off from work early on Fridays after Jummah prayer and grabbing food with friends at a different spot every week. THIS RIGHT HERE is happening this Friday iA 🤤🤤🤤👌🏾
@@skandosh9025 most likely since it is chicken. Tho how it was slaughtered might change the validity of its halal status depending on your school of thought.
After watching this on snapchat last week, I decided to get it when I visited my brother in DC today and wow, sandwiches were fantastic! Definitely recommend
It really is good and it's not just Nashville Hot sandwiches either. I love the buffalo as well. The U Street store had a line from the first day and they're opening another one on Wisconsin Ave. So happy for them.
As a native of DC (born and raised), I wholeheartedly agree. Glad RR is getting press, but mad the spot is blowing up (it's already packed!) Funny thing is, there's a Popeye's right down the street from RR. When they did their first run of sandwiches and ran out, that infamous tweet went out and RR has been super packed ever since
