**Update from Mahsa, she said she was unaware she was doing this and it wasn’t intentional. Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt since it is her first time back on stage in two years. The important takeaway from this is this is not gamesmanship, the commentator who says “it’s not free up there” and she needs to fight is incorrect, it is free up there and everyone is given adequate space to display their physique. I point this out so it does not start becoming common practice in our sport by inexperienced athletes listening to the commentary as this is acceptable or part of the sport, it absolutely not. Let’s not turn this accident in to gamesmanship or a new thing in Bikini, I can only imagine where it could lead 😅. Accidental or on purpose be aware of the people next to you, blocking is never part of the sport. Be courteous to those around you, they all worked so hard to be on that stage, nobody deserves to have to fight for the judges to see them. Again let’s give Mahsa the benefit of the doubt. To me it looked blatant on first glance but knowing what I do know of Mahsa I’m going to believe it was accidental and nerves.

I cant imagine knowing how much it takes just to get to the stage and then being okay with blocking someone else and their hard work. I'm glad this is rare

Mahsa blocking her was 100% intentional and shame on the judges for not calling it out. Disgusting behavior, not a fan.

There is no way a competitor couldn't know they were blocking another competitor. Its such a bad look.

For me this comes down to sportsmanship and fairness . Gosh blocking someone intentionally is cringe .

From my non judging eye, I didn't see Mahsa as a 2nd. Maybe 4th...glutes seemed soft and no shoulder development at all. Just my penny thought.

I hope the judges start to take points away for this. It was done blatantly.

You’re only the best if you beat the best, not because you stopped someone being seen. It’s a whole lot harder to shine than undermine and it says a lot about an athlete if they want to win by stopping someone else showing their greatness. Presentation is considered with scoring and if you want to present as someone who shows gamesmanship, then prepare to face the consequences. If she ever makes it to the top, the other athletes she wants to be like won’t be her friend and cheerleader if she got there like this

Sp glad Tara won. I tbjnk Iulia should have been 2nd as her gkutes did not jiggle. I wonder if Marie Eve's coaching change was a factor in her placing. She has such a beautiful shape. I have heard Steve tell the men to separate, and even stop any type of jostling. Mahsa must be completely self absorbed or lying that she did not notice she was on top of Tara. I don't buy her excuse. I'm so glad you pointed this out.

I can't even believe that a commentator would cosign body blocking. Mahsa doesn't seem like the type to intentionally do it. I've followed her for years, and she's always been super supportive of her fellow peers. Especially when she was on stage a couple of years back. It looks like she's just trying to stay in the middle of the box rather than splitting it. Could be she didn't know it was an even number up there. I feel like years ago they did more uneven numbers, and you could almost always guess who was winning. But now, with 4 or 6 up there and the random shuffling, they dont want the spectator to know. That said, i think it was unintentional.

My two cents…Mahsa has been one of my best friends for the past 7 years and it’s just not in her character to do this on purpose. She’s a wonderful human being and would never knowingly try to block Tara or try to win unfairly. I believe she was just oblivious to it.

If the judges or expeditor didnt say anything to the athletes for the crowding, then its on the judges. This isn't the first time I've seen Mahsa do this. She does it often. Kimber is just as tall and doesn't do this. The judges need to call it out immediately like Steve does. Very unprofessional behaviour and definitely deliberate and intentional. If I were Tara i would have reset by stepping back and kinda make eye contact with the judges on it to get their attention to Mahsa. Honestly it should have been a warning and then immediate dismissal from stage afterwards. Irrespective of the terrible conduct, i don't agree with the judging from 2-4. I would have Mahsa 4th, from the back she lacks the balance, her upper body looks small compared to lower body and even tho more muscular she looked either underconditioned or flat, but this is pictures so maybe different in person. And the front very very dense and muscular but less so visually than Yulia. But 2nd place to me was overly generous placing for her. I would have Marie Eve 2nd.
