Hi Adam! Love your videos. The equestrian sports are exactly like bikini! Different judges like different things and what wins today may lose tomorrow. So maybe that’s why you find so many horseback riding girls in bodybuilding…were used to it!
Hey, so the head judge, he's been an Olympian judge for the US for ages. I was there when he gave feedback, and he never mentioned anything about judging differently in Europe. How can he say that when he's an American judge who judges the Olympia? She either misunderstood him or she's straight-up lying.
Thank you Adam for doing this video. I think my biggest critique, is the judge making the comment that they judge things differently there. I agree with Brittney that it should be judged the same everywhere and the IFBB pro league needs to address this with the judges there.
Was the winner bigger and leaner than Brittany or Valeria? Or was she smaller than both and just tighter only in the hamstrings? I think there may be some misinterpretation as the top 3 were all smaller than Brittany and all not as lean as Valeria, if they were picking bigger and leaner only why was the top 3 not either of those things?
Another tip: Don't forget about Instacart! I arrange for grocery deliveries to my hotel ALL the time when I travel. Most hotels will accept the delivery at the front desk so it's there when you check in. :-)
I agree with you. Many people kept pushing me to over eat years ago. Made the journey longer and more grueling. I don't know if you covered this anywhere but what happens when you completely stop lifting weights for years and lose your muscle mass. Does the rate of building back stay the same per the 1 lb average per 45 days? Or does it fall more in line with a newbie gainer?
Love these kinds of podcasts on mindset-something that is a major struggle for most people is finding the joy in the little things in everything you do and truly enjoying what you do. Btw it is pronounced - “tea(☕️) neck” like the tea you drink and then your neck!
45:37 this part is 100% on point, I literally wanted to quit because I wasn’t having fun at one point I was told that I had to suffer, which I understand, but at the same time I still want to enjoy this
There is an attraction in Ecuador called Mitad del Mundo, and if you stand right on the equator that’s where you see the most weight difference (I’ve done it), but if you go a foot north or south of the at line the difference seemed to me to be minescule
There's one coach that has their client starting their prep on 1300 calories, she is maybe 5'5, was on the leaner side. However! This coach put her on ozempic and another substance that I cannot remember the name of, in order to 1. suppress her appetite, and 2. help lose weight/keep it off, because she went a bit crazy with foods post show last year. I wonder WHY because she was only eating protein by show date because apparently she has "thick skin", but she has a problem with food. And she was eating off plan almost every day, but this coaches way to help was to use ozempic. And he boasts about ozempic being a good tool for preps to suppress girls appetites. I would be curious on your thoughts when it comes to using other substances in preps, when some girls need counselling, not drugs to help with their issues with food.
Another great episode you two! (I miss you guys opening with that line, because it is so true!) Adam, would you mind linking the study you refer to here? I would love to read it!
In my humble opinion and amateur experience, your body and shine comes through when one enjoys the journey. I had Sandy tell me when I competed in Sacramento that she could tell I had enjoyed my prep and it showed on stage. I was so happy to hear that feedback. Thank you for the affirmation that we are always under construction 🏗 👷♀️👷♀️🏗🚧🚧⚠️⚠️
So question, I cannot find the answer anywhere and maybe you guys will be able to answer it. How is it possible or how does it happen that upon waking you weigh one weight, and even 30 minutes later you can weigh in a half or a pound or two more. Nothing taken in, no water no food and no bathroom trips in between. Where does the extra pounds come from?
Curious about your supplements suggestions and support. Protein powder and how many grams per weight, other recommended supplements such as BCAAs, pre workout, glutamine, creatine.
Thank you for saying you don’t have to eat Tilapia all prep or for every meal. I had a coach who insisted I eat Tilapia and Cod even after I told him multiple times I don’t like fish like that. I’ve obviously switched coaches since then and haven’t eaten a single piece of fish this entire prep and now the leanest I’ve ever been for my show coming up next weekend!
Maybe it's because Tilapia and leaner meats have less collagen too, which does plump up and strengthen the skin. Less collagen could potentially result in weaker skin 🤷
