I've pre-ordered a bunch of TPB of Rebirth. I used to buy the monthly comic books thru Preview but sometimes, the comic shop would not order enough and I would miss a number and it was touch and go to get it. I tried the digital version but it's not the same. So yeah, looking forward to read those stories next year. =\
Lincoln March says the reason the Court of Owls gave him a second chance was due to hip plan to start the Robin War to lure Robin into the Court of Owls, and better yet to change the plan and force Dick Grayson to join once he returned.
I think it will allow some flexibility in story arcs, one minute Dick will be on the streets the next he'll be jetting off to do some undercover spying.
Yes and No, well not yet. Nightwing is very popular but not as popular as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman. Batman did mention that he wanted Dick Grayson, not only to be part of the Justice League but to lead it. Also, I really want to see Nightwing in a Live Action Movie.
Ali Ahmed I like Red Hood but do they ever actually team up in the comics? I know they do some missions for Batman but actually team up? Maybe a Bat Family movie would be cool. I would prefer a Teen Titans movie or Titans movie.
+Dirty Haxor I would argue Nightwing is as important as the trio being that he's been around for as long as was a targeted appeal to the youth for over 75 years. And besides Batman and Superman, he is the most known DC character (Sorry Wonderwoman).
Im Not a fan of Kyle Higgins run or Tim Seeley's new Solo Run on the character ( the loss of Tom King is really apparent with the Nightwing Rebirth Run) , Nightwing shouldn't be Spider-Man where he is quippy all the time but instead he should have more in common with Batman just without the Anger, so he is more Zen, cool calm and focused yet still charming but not silly or goofy. The 90's Bludhaven era really captured that and thats the best version of him, also Max Landis should be writing the character right now, as he totally understands the character and is a very talented writer as his Superman American Alien Series was amazing
Thank you dude I couldn't place it for the life of me, but throughout the entire new 52 run of Nightwing he really felt like fucking Spiderman. I mean that's not a bad thing spiderman a really cool and complex character, but I thought Nightwing was this acrobatic warrior. that he got over the grief and loss of his parents so could be better than Batman stepping out of the bats Shadow.
Amazing Zero Yeah I totally agree, its interesting cause Max Landis has been talking about Nightwing the same way you have, and it's exactly how he should be
I Love How In The New 52, They EXPANDED His Origin. For Example, We Know Who His Friends Were, We Knew That Haily's Circus Had Secrets. We Even Know His Last Name Isn't GRAYSON... He Was Meant To Be The GRAY-SON! Get It, GRAY-SON, Not Grayson. It Is This Since He Was Suppose To Be A Talon. Also How Spyrle Is A Agent Company Where Agents Find Out Information About Superheroes, Get Their Identity, And Use Their Information AGAINST THEM! They Even Have Cool Secrets (Spryle)
THEORY THEORY, IMPORTANT I HAVE A REALLY BIG THEORY THAT NEEDS TO GET TO COMICSEXPLAINED , Please take the time to read... This theory is about the three jokers and yes I know it has no context here but I was thinking if we take those three jokers and put them into three categories for instance a pre crisis joker, post crisis/pre52 joker and a new 52 joker... What if these three ages of comic books now have there own worlds for example lets just call the pre crisis one earth 1 and the post crisis/pre 52 one earth 2 and the new 52 earth 3.... This is caused by Doctor Manhattan taking time from the heroes when Barry caused flashpoint. Which lead to the other jokers getting put onto the new 52 world like the pre 52 superman was (black costume silver logo and a beard, which is now the main superman). Also this works the same for Wally west (who comes back in rebirth) who is also from the pre 52 world... Also what if there is three of all our heroes in these worlds but only some came over, for example Wally, superman and joker. And I know your saying how superman tho, but if you read action comics there is a guy named Clark Kent (or superman from pre crisis) there is the pre 52 superman and the new 52 superman who just died... Hinting at the three different superman from three different ages just like the joker. This also explains why doomsday was back in his containment suit and didn't really recognize superman that much.... But that's just a theory hope you guys like. Feel free to add or take away what you see fit :)
I'm a Super Marvel Head, Only Reading DC here and there throughout my childhood. But your videos have given me a new insight into the comic world that i thought i knew. You my friend are Uatu The Watcher. The true One Above All for all Comics.
I thought that it was Jean Paul Valley took over as Batman as a result Knightfall. Am I wrong ? I know Dick took up the cowl but I did not think it was as a result of Knightfall. Seems like an interesting series though.
Still the best DC character to me. Grayson was awesome. But unfortunately rebirth seems to not know what to do with Nightwing. D. Grayson to me is and always will be the greatest hero in DC, a good plot twist I thought someone would've done by now is to have him become head Talon considering he is the gray-son of gotham.
In court of owls comic II i think 90 % sure that court had killed nightwings parents for regruiting him to become an Owl /man in time when he becomes Robin, and in Alferds letters Bruce Waine discovers something like he has a brother Tomas Waine. His younger brother was hiden, when he was 7 years old, in hospital institute couse some injurys or being in coma from car accident. That was also done by court of owls, and with regeneratine potion creates him as Owlman. Very strong and ruthles anti charachter. Real enemy of bat is owl. So Nightwing should take Batmans place after his gone.
Comics are too convoluted and difficult to follow. This is why they struggle to sell issues. It becomes such a headache inducing chore to try to keep the nonsense straight that any sane person eventually gives up. I've stopped buying print comics (except for Empowered) and now just read a few web comics because each of those stories are self contained visions with consistent writing, characterization, and universe.
Death of the Family, it was revealed Joker did NOT follow Batman back to the cave. So no, he never really learned the Bat Family identity, only a mind game to trick them so they won't work together any more.
I know little about the Court of Owls story but I was always interested in it, but making the Graysons part of it sounds stupid as hell and seems like its only a thing to be a flimsy plot device
With no Faust I guess I'll be the one to say it, Rob you didn't even mention Titans hunt! (Which lets be real only really deserved a small mention but still)
I read the first few issues and It was pretty cool how he works with raptor, and you are never really sure whether raptor is a hero or villain, kind of like snape in harry potter
My question about Dick Grayson: Prior to Flashpoint he was about mid to early-late twenties. In the New 52 he like everybody else was made younger. With Rebirth has he gone back to being older, or not yet. Also pre-Flashpoint his time as Robin was about 5-6 years with him starting at 11-12. In the New 52, he started when he was 16 and was Robin for a much smaller time. Has any of this been reversed with Dick or any other character, besides Superman?
character age and timelines in comic books never makes sense, and different authors and artists usually have different ideas about it. Just don't think about it too much.
So in dc rebirth, when Grayson becomes knight wing again, does the world still know/remember its him from forever evil? Since his identity was revealed?
Lucas Curcio + Grayson And Tiger (From Grayson Comics) Made A Machine So Only The People That Dick Knows, Like The Bat-Family, Other Superheroes, Tiger, And More, Knows His Identity, Only Civilians Don't.
I love Nightwing he's one of my fav characters hands down n really loving Nightwing Rebirth. Well all the Rebirth titles pretty much for that matter Lol
He was temporarily possessed by a super villain who's name I forgot. This villain was physically gone and could only exist by possessing an individual. To continue his schemes, his possessed victim must be purged of his identity so knowledge of Dick grayson was removed from everyone's memory and any form of records. When Dick escaped his control, he was essentially forgotten by the public. Helena Bertinelle (Huntress) who was his friend, tweaked the technology to allow certain individuals like Batman and the Robins to retain knowledge of his existence. Sorry for this rough explaination
+Yik Long Tay I think the tech that was responsible for reclaiming his secret identity was also based on Spyral tech. can someone refine my explaination? In truth, I only understood 80 percent of this story arc
Oh boy, if that is as crazy as it sounds, they should just have left his identity out in the open XD, thanks for the explanation though, haven't found the time to read Grayson, but I sure as hell want to read Nightwing Rebirth XP
You ought to read grayson. It's quite nice. I only feel unsure of the last few issues. I think that the confusing circumstances created by the final villain was kind of forced. It felt unatural probably because they were trying to manuver the story to Nightwing rebirth.
I gave up on DC after Final Crisis. And the things I'm seeing here about Rebirth aren't really dragging me back in... I'll keep on just reading Marvel for now.
I'm here because I would love to go back to reading DC. So I'm trying to know more about Rebirth to see if it's a good place to start. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not catching my attention right now. :/
I have. There's a bit of exaggeration in it, but it does seem like it. They won't kill 'em, however. It's their property - and a successful one - so they wouldn't do that to themselves.
Ok, I understand that there is supposed to be some suspension of disbelief when it comes to comics, but there is no way they can have me believe that bomb fit inside the head of a child. There is no way they can have me believe that bomb fit inside the head of a human, period. It's way too large. There's also no way they can have me believe that Dick extracted that bomb through Damien's nose and he was ok with it.
jtbrad Damien had the head of an ogre there, so i dont really care. art was awful. Still, the bubble an be as thin as it needs to be to get the bomb out, that was the whole point of the device. Dick got it from a japanese superspy and bubble connoisseur.
Dick Grayson is one of the most important characters DC has. While not always seen as on par with Batman, Superman or the Flash, Dick Grayson represented the youth since the 1940's and has only increased in popularity as he grew out of Batman's shadow. Also, while Batman may be the reason for uniting the Bat-family, the support, strength and stability of the family usually rides on Dick Grayson, especially when Bruce is not around to be Batman.
Ryan Bobadilla Who cares about relatable nowadays? My favorite hero is Wolverine and we share nothing in common aside from being short. And my favorite character in general is Thanos who wont relate to anyone but psychopaths.
Kind of to echo what other people have said, but unlike Robin who is a partner to Batman, and Batwoman and Batgirl who both use his gimmick as their own and are spin-offs, Nightwing is the only functional member of the Bat Family that has "graduated" out of Batman's shadow. He's significant as Batman's only one true success so far of producing another crime fighter. You could argue Jason Todd stepped out of his shadow as well, but that's in a negative way, while other Robins have quit or been killed. Nightwing carries on the Bat legacy and style while being his own thing. Like an evolution of the Robin concept.
Dick Grayson might be one of the very few things that are good in the new 52... Maybe Catwoman too. But overall, what a mess. I just can't get hooked, DC is mostly dead for me at this point.
I don't really care about Nightwing. I just want to know the song that plays at the end. The music is the main reason I have subscribed to this channel.
Grayson was popular and it was critically acclaimed? what? last I heard everyone hated that garbage. shit was ass XD everyone I talked to hated it i hated it everyone we talked to about it hated it even some comic shop clerks didn't like it. who the hell liked it?
