Great video of use of the unit, especially the use of headset. It would be nice if that continuity test feature would set off a buzzer instead of the green led. Led is kinda hard to see when your fist deep in the hydraulic compartment or engine bay of an earthmoving machine with your 20ft line of extension wire and flashlight!
Thanks Julie, Spread the word, would like to get more females to watch my channel👍 oh, and RV's usually it's just a grounding issue. Corrosion on connections just need cleaning. Let me know what you find. Tim
@@TimsWorkshopTJY I'm with you on female viewership. I have a farm and LOVE youtube for guidance on repairs. I did figure out the trailer conductivity issue. Because of your video, I was able to understand a couple of ways to use my new tracer and I found the corrosion near the base of the turn signal and clean it up. All working now! Best of all I now have a great tool for finding other electrical issues. Excellent help, thanks!!
Thanks for the update Julie, I hit different subjects in my videos so pass the word on to friends and family to watch my channel. Also if you haven't watched Marci Junebug on RU-vid you should check out her channel. She does some awesome metal art work with her welding equipment. Thanks again for watching. Tim
I've seen a lot of videos of guys sitting at their workbench talking about how this thing works. I've got one and have a short I need to find but I've seen no videos of someone actually using the unit to find an open short in a real case.
I'm checking an ITA o2 sensor wiring system, my obd2 is telling me I have a low output. possibly a dirty or lose ground contact. Just bought this unit could use some help.
This unit will tell you if you have continuity end to end of the hot wire. As far as ground the same. This unit will tell you where I signal is broken in the lines. One thing I found was wear headphones so you can hear it better. On the oxygen sensor wires if you know where the other end is in the engine compartment put it on continuity first to see if you get the uninterrupted signal. If not then run a line check to see where the break is.
@@TimsWorkshopTJY : Nice little unit just going through my learning phase with it. Will I need to disconnect the battery both + and - sides or just the positive post? while doing the ground check? 🤔
If you checking the power line for breaks then the battery needs to be connected. If your checking a ground line obviously no power on it. But same rule applies continuity is a signal on the ground line with the battery power on the unit. Green light and you have a good ground
@@TimsWorkshopTJY : Thank you for the info. Couldn't find anything pertaining to this issue on the RU-vid. FNG to the Allsun EM415 Pro Thanks again ....
Thanks for watching Eduardo, it does work but not the best for sure. It was the cheapest one I found online but have seen others use it on videos. It's best to use it for continuity testing. Testing one end of a wire to the other end. If you plan on buying one I suggest you buy a better unit.
